Deputy punched during dispute over cooler
Doug McMurdo
Miner Staff Reporter

CHLORIDE - A dispute over a cooler landed a Golden Valley couple in the cooler Friday on felony charges related to punching a deputy.

Robert M. Ehring, 60, and Victoria R. Ehring, 58, refused to let a man retrieve a large cooler he was hired to pick up at a business in the 9300 block of Highway 93.

The man called deputies and the couple reportedly became combative when they arrived.

Robert Ehring allegedly pushed one of the deputies and told him to leave the business. Deputies claim Robert Ehring struck one of them in the face.

Eventually, both Ehrings were taken into custody.

They face felony charges of aggravated assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.

It was unclear if the Ehrings own or simply work at the business or if the caller was there to repossess the cooler.

The rest of the story? Really? There is a story. You're right about that! How can you think the Ehring's are right for holding onto another company's property? It has nothing to do with the government. You pay your bills, you fulfill your contracts or the things you lease get taken away. Plain and simple. Nothing is free. We all know that. Nothing to admire or celebrate. You follow the law or you pay the price.

One has to laugh at the rhyme of the cooler leading this couple to the cooler! Of course doubt this couple is laughing though!

Just the Facts McMurdo. Sounds like you just take whatever the story the sheriff gives you and run with it. Maybe you could follow up and get the rest of the story. from the people who did the punching. Why would a couple of almost seniors punch a lawman. There must be a story there some where.

You go, girl(and guy)!
It's about time someone showed the government we're not going to be pushed around!
Of course, it wasn't really the government that you attacked, it was the local police, who probably live right here in Kingman or Mohave county.
You're the kind of people that the rest of us residents admire and celebrate! Too bad you're in jail, and that this will probably go on your record, and that your children and grandchildren may not ever speak to you again.
But, you go!
