Golden Valley Firefighters responded to eastbound I-40 at milepost 40 at 8:10 a.m. Saturday where they found two semi-trucks that had collided. One occupant needed to be extricated from the sleeper of one of the trucks. That occupant was transported to KRMC with non-life-threatening injuries. Three others involved in the accident refused medical treatment. After medical care was provided and the vehicles were stabilized for any further hazards, the scene was turned over to the Department of Public Safety and the Arizona Department of Transportation, which had the highway reduced to one lane while they investigated and removed the wreckage from this accident.

How in the heck can 2 semis that are at least 40' long collide with one another on a 2-lane interstate hwy???

And if that happens, how safe are the rest of us in our cars?

One has to wonder how two semi's colliding, can shear the roof off of, one of the semi's???
Unless he drove under the load of the semi in front, Which brings another question to mind, WHAT was he doing in the sleeper?
