A 60-year-old Kingman woman was hospitalized following a single vehicle rollover accident on Interstate 40 Monday evening.
The accident was initially reported as a car fire with the driver still trapped inside, but Kingman Fire Battalion Chief Bill Johnston said there was no fire when rescuers arrived at the scene at milepost 47 around 6 p.m.
The woman was conscious and still inside the vehicle.
She said she was westbound when she passed a semi-truck while coming down a hill.
As she went to maneuver back into the right lane, she said her 4-door sedan lost its steering capability, sending her into the shoulder where the car rolled once before landing on its roof.
The woman was reportedly wearing a seat belt. She was not seriously injured but was transported to the hospital after complaining of back pain.
