The Audubon Society hosts the annual Christmas Bird Count at the Bill Williams River National Wildlife Refuge on Dec. 27 and the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge on Dec. 28. Novice birders interested in assisting in the effort will be partnered with those who have participated before.
Last year 45 volunteers assisted with the Havasu effort and 113 species were identified.
