KINGMAN - Mohave County's Public Works Department starts moving into its new home today.
The new 38,800 square-foot building at 3715 Sunshine Drive cost the county $6 million.
The project was approved in 2011 and used $3.5 million from the Highway User Revenue Fund, $1.5 million from the county landfill fund, $500,000 from the County Facilities Department, $300,000 from the Golden Valley and I-40 Improvement Districts, and $200,000 from the Parks Department.
The county had considered renovating its current public works buildings but decided a new building would allow for growth, better customer service and increased department efficiency.
