KINGMAN - It was reported in Friday's Miner that the Kingman Fire Department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for the apprehension of a serial arsonist who has set 80 brush fires in the Kingman area since January.
The Kingman Fire Department is not putting up the reward money and no taxpayer money is being used.
According to Assistant Chief Keith Eaton, the agencies offering the reward are the Arizona Advisory Committee on Arson Prevention and the Arizona Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators. An additional $1,000 is being offered by Silent Witness.
The KFD, along with the
Kingman Police Department
Mohave County Sheriff's Office
, and the Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District continue to seek the public's assistance in apprehending the suspect or suspects for starting these fires.
Eaton last month said significant evidence has been collected and it's clear the fires are not the result of careless smokers.
