Goodale recovering, set to return home

Doris Goodale

KINGMAN - Rep. Doris Goodale may return home to Kingman soon.

According to family friend Margaret Nyberg and recent Facebook posts from Goodale's family, doctors could send her home this weekend.

"She's doing real well," Nyberg said. "She has some numbness on her left side but she may be able to do outpatient rehab here."

Goodale was diagnosed with a blood clot on Sunday and rushed to Sunrise Medical Center in Las Vegas.

She has served as Mohave County's representative to the Arizona Legislature since 2008.

According to Arizona Revised Statutes, if Goodale is unable to resume her legislative duties a meeting of the Republican precinct committeemen in her district will be called.

The committeemen then nominate three qualified people as possible replacements for her and the Mohave County Board of Supervisors will appoint one of the three candidates to the vacant seat.

The next regular session of the Arizona Legislature starts in January.
