Elks Poker Run

In keeping with the Halloween season, on Oct. 12 the Veterans Committee of the Kingman Elks Lodge No. 468 held its Second Annual Poker Run to raise funds to help local area veterans' families and receive donations for homeless veterans and food for the Kingman Food Bank. A breakfast was held from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Lodge at 900 Gates Ave. The poker run started at 9:30, with the first card being drawn at the first designated location and the last bike back by 3 p.m.
A dinner was served after the run's conclusion with entertainment performed by the Mohave Green Band. The event saw 130 people attending and the $1,622 raised will be given to the Veterans Committee Army of Hope Program to help local veterans' families in need while he or she is on active duty serving their country.
