KINGMAN - A 15-year-old boy could face a charge of disorderly conduct after he brandished a 3-inch pocketknife while riding on a Kingman Academy of Learning school bus Wednesday afternoon.
Kingman Police spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki said investigators learned nothing that led them to believe the student acted with malicious intent "beyond poor judgment."
Sochocki said the student was being reckless with the knife. His behavior frightened other students on the bus and they notified the driver, said Sochocki.
The 4:30 p.m. incident caused the bus to be delayed by about 20 minutes, said Sochocki.
The student was released to a parent pending possible charges and he also might suffer consequences at KAOL.
"It is clear the student violated school policy," said Sochocki.
