KINGMAN - Two missing sisters, 8 and 11, are home safe and sound after giving their parents a scare.
Around 20 to 30 Mohave County Sheriff's Deputies, Search and Rescue and Posse members were called out Thursday evening to canvass a Kingman neighborhood after a woman reported that her two daughters were missing.
The mother told deputies that the girls were playing at Neal Butler Park across the street from their home in the 3000 block of Jagerson Avenue when she left to go to the store. When she returned the girls were gone.
According to MCSO spokeswoman Trish Carter, the girls went to play at a friend's house. When deputies searching for the girls knocked on the door to their friend's house, the children didn't answer the door because there were no adults in the home.
The children who live in the home called their father at work to tell him that deputies had knocked on the door. When he arrived at the home he found the two missing girls and sent them home.
