Letter: Check the crosswalk
11/19/2013 6:00:00 AM
I have been wondering why some people who are pulling out of Walmart do not look off to the side to see if there might be someone in the crosswalk.
I have a little red electric scooter and a lot of times, even though I have the light in my favor, I have come very close to being hit.
It's like they can't see out the left-side window of their car to see if someone is crossing the road. They look straight ahead at the traffic coming from the opposite direction and not at who might be crossing the street.
Someday, someone is going to get hit by a person crossing that part of Stockton Hill Road because a driver did not look off to their side to see them or see if someone might be crossing.
