Letter: Education needs to come first
11/21/2013 6:00:00 AM
Regarding the grade policy for school athletics: Do the kids go to school to learn or to play? Playing is a privilege and should be treated that way.
Anyone with lower than a "C" grade should not be allowed to play until their grades are brought up and kept at that level.
Shame on the coaches who don't like the idea of better grades. They should all be fired. Their first responsibility is to make sure the kids get a good education.
Where do they expect these kids to go after they graduate? Don't they realize that it is almost impossible to get on a professional sports team of any kind without a college education?
