A burglary suspect who punched a deputy before breaking free from custody was bitten by a police dog that found him hiding nearby.

Charles Daniel Murray, 23, of Golden Valley was booked into the Mohave County Jail over the weekend on felony charges of resisting arrest, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and escape, along with an outstanding warrant.

Deputies contacted Murray just before 2 p.m. Sunday as he was walking on Chino Drive.

The deputies were responding to a possible burglary in progress in the area of Hope Road and Chino Drive, and Murray matched the description of the suspect given by the caller, said Mohave County Sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter.

Deputies questioned Murray and, after running his name, learned he had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest out of Kingman Justice Court for failing to pay fines.

Carter said that as he was being cuffed, Murray began to resist and started screaming that he couldn't go to jail.

During the struggle, Murray allegedly struck a deputy in the chin with his fist. Murray ultimately broke away from the deputy and ran south through an open field where he jumped a fence onto another property.

A K-9 handler and his dog responded to the scene and located Murray hiding inside a horse trailer.

Carter said that even after he was found, Murray continued to disobey deputies' orders to stop raesisting.

The K-9 was then deployed and bit Murray on the left bicep.

Deputies also used a Taser while taking him into custody.

Murray was transported to the hospital to receive treatment for the bite before being taken to jail.

Buried somewhere in this complexity-laden and worthy story somewhere must be challenging intrigue, a call for new and progressive thinking, and a couple missing apostrophes. left us guessing what the final geography question was.

Has this guy ever seen the show "Cops"? The cops don't stop looking for you because you hit one, jump a fence, disobey commands, etc...they keep adding on the charges, as they should. If you're caught, your caught, give up.
