KINGMAN - The driver of a sedan that ended up stuck on a large rock on the side of Hualapai Mountain Road early Wednesday morning was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Kingman Police Sgt. David Reif identified the driver as 25-year-old Alejandro Orozco Luna of Golden Valley.

A second person ran from the car before police arrived at the scene at 7:40 a.m. That person was unidentified on Wednesday.

Reif said Luna was eastbound on Hualapai Mountain Road when he attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Jackson Street - but instead ended up driving onto a large landscaping rock.

Luna tried repeatedly to free the car from the rock, but failed, Reif said. Witnesses said they could see dirt flying as the tires on the 1995 Pontiac were spinning.

Reif said that when officers arrived, Luna refused to allow them to open the door by holding it shut.

When officers finally forced the door open and began taking Luna into custody, he reportedly tried to grab one of the officers' Tasers, but was again unsuccessful.

Luna was subsequently booked in the Mohave County Jail for Extreme DUI.  His blood alcohol content was not immediately available.

"It's because we see so many articles about DUIs that we don't care any more.

But call a coupe a sedan...That's just wrong!! :)"

Sad, but unfortunately true. And also a bit funny!

Makes me chuckle that all so many of you folks can take away from this is the fact that the car was mistakenly called a sedan.

I saw this accident, it happened on New Years Eve or News Years morning... I would like to think they got an extreme dui for driving like this and if they weren't intoxicated then their license should still be revoked for driving this way.
