KINGMAN - The Board of Supervisors will hold a special meeting today to decide if it will hire an outside investigator or use a county investigator to look into a life insurance policy issue that was raised by the Mohave County Human Resource director in March.
Supervisor Hildy Angius proposed hiring an independent investigator to research the issue at the board's meeting last week.
County Human Resource Director Ray Osuna told the Board last month that at least 14 employees had paid for life insurance through the county but were never signed up for a policy. The department also discovered that at least five other employees who left the county were never taken off of the life insurance rolls.
The Board will also consider:
Returning to holding two Board meetings a month, instead of one.
Allowing employees at all county buildings to carry weapons, instead of just employees that work at the County Administration Building.
Approving a conflict of interest form that county employees must fill out.
The Board meets at 9:30 a.m. today in the County Administration Building, 700 W. Beale St.
