Roommate gunfight leaves one dead in White Hills

Miner Staff Reporter

DOLAN SPRINGS - A Kingman man was shot dead Monday morning after he traded gunshots with a woman at a residence in the White Hills area in an apparent ongoing and ultimately fatal domestic dispute.

Mohave County Sheriff's deputies found Brandon Lang, 25, dead outside of a home in the 11000 block of Saddleback Drive at about 8:20 a.m.

Inside the home was 24-year-old Crystal Dawn Casey Williams, of Dolan Springs, who had been shot in the upper arm.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Lang and Williams exchanged gunfire shortly after 8 a.m.

Lang and his girlfriend were roommates with Williams and her boyfriend. It is unclear if either of them were present at the deadly confrontation.

The dispute first erupted Saturday when Lang for unknown reasons was asked to leave. Deputies arrived and separated the parties.

Lang, according to the Sheriff's Office, returned to the property Monday to retrieve personal property when the conflict resumed.

According to deputies the pair first shot at each other outside the home. It is unclear who shot first.

Williams retreated into the home and locked the door. Lang reportedly kicked open the front door and a bedroom door and the pair again fired on one another.

Lang used a .22 caliber bolt-action rifle, according to deputies, and Williams fired a .22 caliber revolver.

It is not known how many times Lang was shot or where on the body he was hit. Williams was treated for her injured arm and released from University Medical Center later on Monday.

No charges have been filed at this time and the investigation continues.

An autopsy report is pending.

I agree. Why was the couple not aloud to get their belongings. If so the man would still be alive. Also I think a man is more brave to pull a trigger on someone they know, quicker than a woman would. Even if the situation "seemed" like a woman was defending her well being. I sure hope the truth comes out. Maybe not right away. But people talk.

Its sad when a gun fight occurs, no one knows anything, no one seens anything and the person that is deseased will never have their side of the story told. Guns are not toys. An argument or an object is not worth pulling a loaded weapon on anyone and taking their life. I'm so sorry this happened.

I used to be very close to Brandon and was extremely shocked by all of this. I can only imagine how his parents and girlfriend are feeling at a time of loss. Unfortunately this seems to me that he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. My prayers are with your family Brandon. I'm so sorry this happened.

Let me see if I have this right....

There's a guy Lang, from Kingman, who lives in White Hills, which is 20 miles north of Dolan Springs by the way, comes back to White Hills to retrieve his belongings.

There's this woman who has 4 names, Crystal Dawn Casey Williams, who shoots at Lang. Lang has a girlfriend, unnamed, and Williams has a boyfriend, also unnamed, who all live at this residence in White Hills, not Dolan Springs.
When authorities get there, Lang is dead and Williams is wounded, and nobody, I repeat nobody, is taken in and charged???

Yeah, that sounds like great reporting and even better law enforcement. I sure feel safer, bon't you?

What a senseless loss of life. Why was this not resolved on Saturday when the police were there? These were all young people involved. The ones told they had to leave their "home" had belongings left behind. Why didn't they just let those kids take what belonged to them on Saturday?

Thank God they did not use assault rifles. This would rank as national news then. His personal items must have been inportant to him.
