Kingman resident recommends the film Jack Reacher
Morgan R. Wilson
Kingman resident

In the film "Jack Reacher," one character describes Reacher as "someone who doesn't care about the law. He only cares about what's right." This is a description that Reacher himself seems to agree with.

"Jack Reacher" is an action-filled story of murder and police coverups, of car chases and kidnappings. Mostly, it is about one man's quest to find the truth, no matter what he may have to do to find it.

The movie begins with the arrest of James Barr. Barr, a former Army sniper, is arrested for the seemingly random murders of five innocent people. Under interrogation, Barr asks for one thing: Find Jack Reacher.

Reacher, a former military policeman, left the Army and became a ghost. He resurfaces after Barr's arrest - not to help Barr, but to make sure he pays for his crimes.

Helen, Barr's attorney, convinces Reacher to look into the case, and he stays to convince both himself and Helen of Barr's absolute guilt. However, as he digs deeper into a sordid tale of murder and betrayal, Reacher begins to doubt that Barr committed the murders.

This film poses two questions:

• Can Reacher and Helen find out the truth and clear Barr?

• More importantly, can they survive trying to do so?

This film is packed with many twists and turns and is a well done action movie. Tom Cruise, while a little wooden in his role as Reacher, makes a believable and likeable action hero. Jack Reacher is not your typical everyday hero; which is what makes him believable as one. This movie does contain bad language and graphic violence.

I give Jack Reacher three out of four miners.

Om sorry but for me Tom Cruise jumped the shark long ago. When a high school grad claims to know everything about Psychology and scoffs at a century of medical research.

I tend to think...What a knucklehead. Jumping up and down on Oprahs couch didnt help his mental status either.

His acting.....if you saw him in one movie, you pretty much wont have any surprises coming in his next movie. The guys done jumped da shark. Next............

As a long time fan (all 17 books) of Lee Child’s Reacher sereis, I had some major trepidation about Cruise playing Jack Reacher because Reacher – in the books – is 6’5” and 250 lbs with piercing blue eyes. But Cruise pulled it off very well. Exciting and well plotted the film is well done. The chase scenes (with Cruise doing 90% of the driving) has elevated it to the level of the classic from “Bullitt.” And it’s always great to hear a guts-out American V8 Chevelle being put through its paces.

evidently Morgan Wilson has not read any of the Jack Reacher books as he is leaving out probably the most important part of the book.
Jack Reacher is 6'5" 250 lbs and they picked a person who probably was Jack Reacher's size when he was eight years old.
The pick of Tom Cruise was strictly money, but they goofed because most people who have read Jack Reacher are so disgusted with the pick they would not go see the movie, at least my wife and I won't and other people have expressed the same opinion.
Tom Cruise is on his way out as an actor anyway because he is half goofy.
I looked it up and there is a long line of large actors (an unknown would have been best) in Holly weird and they pick this runt...big mistake!
