Local senator joins fight against expansion of Medicaid

ARIZONA - Arizona Sen. Kelli Ward, R-Lake Havasu City, joined Senate President Andy Biggs, R-Gilbert, and four other legislators on the Arizona Capitol lawn to announce the creation of "Restoring Freedom: Arizonans against the expansion of Medicaid."

The legislators were joined by representatives from the Goldwater Institute, a conservative think tank, and the anti-tax group Americans for Prosperity. The new organization's goal is to present what it called the "detrimental effects Medicaid expansion will have on the economy and healthcare system in the state." Ward is an outspoken critic of Gov. Jan Brewer's plan to accept federal funding for the expansion of the state's Medicaid program.

In time the right wing puppets for the medical community, medical insurance community will fall by the way side, its just a matter of time, they can spend millions electing briefly someone like this Doctor who has a financial interest to see the status quo stay, as to Flake and his ilk, these highly paid rich medical folks donate to his campaigns, but their day is not long, folks do get sick, and everyone has a family member some day devastated by a unpredictable illness such as cancer etc, and then they sing a different tune!

Kelli and Flake both know if you're going to screw the voters do so at the beginning of your term. Kelli's reelection is 20 months down the road and Flake's is 46 months away. By then there won't be a voter in the state that will remember Kelli made a fool out of herself beating a dead horse when AZ's economy should be Job #1. And background checks will be long forgotten - that is unless there's another Sandy Hook.

When are the voters in this area going to stop voting for Republicans -
* Mayor's son - drugs
* Mayor questionable dealing with Superior Tire proposal

* McCain - let's just say well past retirement
* School board - open LWHS too early even when told it will cause $1.5 mil. problem
* Board of Supervisors - add security. Then oops let's allow guns, Then oops again, let's allow everyone including employee
* Jan Brewer - is this the best spokesperson for our state
Help me out here, folks. I'm sure I missed a few examples of our representative giving us a finger wave.

More of the "let them eat cake" from Ward. She has no real solutions for any problems but continues to spout her love of lobbyists because they give her stuff. Its time to recall this person because she only has the interests of a very few in mind.

Headline should read local Senator leads fight to waste time and do nothing while she has her hand out to lobbyist. Brewer took the money because it would be ridiculous not to. Mrs Ward only represents a small group of people in Arizona Insurance companies and the hopelessly conservative. She could only win an election in such a right wing town.

I makes one wonder exactly what "freedom" these clowns think they are preserving. Freedom to pay $300 for a 10min. "encounter" with a primary care doctor. Freedom, to have everyone with insurance pay extra for those who have none. Do these clowns know what level of income qualifies currently for health insurance under the AZ version of Medicaid. It's around $1,200/ month for a family of 2. This expansion is being paid for by the Federal government for the first several years and then 90% after that. Even light in the loafers, Jan Brewer, can't see the sense in turning that down.

I guess the freedom they are preserving is the right to die on the sidewalk. Really, unbelievable.

Kelli Ward is an official slave of the Goldwater Institute and the Koch Brothers. Last I heard there are few in Mohave County who are members of the "against anything" corporate hacks of ALEC. The irony is that the majority of income to KRMC and the local medical establishment is from Medicare. Goldwater does not represent the interests of Mohave County, so naturally Dr. Ward and his wife are in bed with them.

and what does she propose?
