Eulalio Trejo Hernandez

Following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding child pornography, Mohave County Sheriff's detectives on Thursday arrested a Golden Valley man and charged him with 10 felony counts of exploitation of a minor.

Eulalio Trejo Hernandez, 18, allegedly had numerous images of child pornography on his cell phone. Detectives said Hernandez shared the images with others on an online social network.

He was taken into custody without incident at about 2 p.m. at a home in the 3300 block of N. Higley Road.

It doesn't matter if more facts come out and the accused was 17 at the time. Being a minor doesn't exempt someone from being charged with child pornography.

Teens have been charged for sending their own naked pictures via text.

While I agree with you regarding 18 year olds with 17.5 year old girlfriends, this appears to be more than that. It states in the article that he was spreading the pictures around on the internet and for that he should be charged.

I'm not saying they are the same thing, I'm saying if a person is an age that the state says you are of age to consent, then you should no longer be considered a child for purposes of child pornography cases. I strongly suspect if this case gets more publicity we may find that is in fact the case here.

Child pornography is not the same as statutory rape, (where if both parties are under age it is not considered statutory rape). Even minors can be charged with child porn. In some cases, under aged teenagers who texted naked pictures of themselves have been charged with disseminating child pornography.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here, I notice this man is 18, for all we know "child pornography" here is his 17 and a half year old GF, that willingly sent him the pictures. As far as the law is concerned there is no distinction between teen porn and child porn. This is an example of an area of law that needs to change to keep up with society and technology. If she's over the age of consent he can see her nude and have sex with her (willingly of course), if she is over the age of consent but under 18 and there is a picture involved, then there is mandatory jail time, does that really make sense here?

@ Myra Higgins-

I've never known ONE ex-wife that has looked up pictures of children being sexually molested on their husbands computers and cellphones, NOT ONE. But the bottom line is just as YOU are responsible for those drugs that "aren't yours" that somebody must've left in your car, you too are responsible for the contents inside you your computer!

George Carlin had the right idea, fence in a whole state. i know that not possible, but he got a point. Let face it they are not going to change. So let the government set up a city were only pedifiles are put and never get out. No children at all, plus have them all fixed. They can work, play, but NO children in that city. Plus they can never leave.

Does he have an ex-wife? Ex-wives have been known to put porn on their husbands phones and computers and then calling the cops.
There is one right there in GV that has done it.
So I hope the cops look into this real well.
