Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

KINGMAN - Kingman police seized nearly six ounces of methamphetamine, two handguns reportedly in the possession of an ex-felon and other items following a traffic stop on Andy Devine Avenue late Thursday afternoon.

Edward Shawn Mullins, 38, was stopped in the 2300 block of Andy Devine after investigators observed Mullins driving in the area. They knew he was wanted on a felony warrant.

Sam, a KPD K9, was called to the scene and reportedly alerted to the presence of drugs in Mullins' vehicle. A search allegedly revealed a bundle of cash - the exact amount was not divulged - roughly 5.8 ounces of methamphetamine, two handguns and a variety of drug paraphernalia.

One of the handguns was reportedly stolen, according to Kingman police spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki.

Mullins, according to Sochocki, is a prohibited possessor.

He was arrested on felony charges of possession of dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs for sale, transporting dangerous drugs for sale, two counts of misconduct involving weapons, possession of stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia and the warrant for failure to appear.

I would like to know what happened to Mullins after he was arrested. Has he received a sentence, and if so how long for?
