Marijuana haul nets man a date with a judge
Drugs, thefts and crimes against children continue to dominate the business of the Mohave County Grand Jury

KINGMAN - Drugs, thefts and crimes against children continue to dominate the business of the Mohave County Grand Jury.

Karl Herbert Veal, 53, was indicted on a count of transportation of marijuana for sale (more than two pounds) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

An officer with the Arizona Department of Public Safety pulled Veal over on Interstate 40 outside of Kingman in late February.

Veal reportedly told the officer he was carrying a "large amount of marijuana," and he wasn't kidding. Roughly 575 pounds was seized. Veal also reportedly told law enforcement he was transporting the marijuana from Los Angeles to Detroit.

His arraignment is set for 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Mohave County jail. Judge Rick Williams was assigned the case.

The grand jury also indicted (note: all arraignments will take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Mohave County jail unless otherwise noted):

• Fawn Marie Dallas: Possession of dangerous drugs for sale (methamphetamine), possession of narcotics for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Judge Steven Conn was assigned the case.

• John Outher Haltom and Jon Paul Desrosiers: Possession of dangerous drugs for sale (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia (methamphetamine), possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Judge Derek Carlisle was assigned the case.

• Anthony Joseph Ogas Jr.: 18 counts of sexual conduct with a minor (minor's parent, legal guardian, teacher or clergy) and one count of child abuse by domestic violence.

Judge Carlisle was assigned the case.

• Jamey Don Holley: Theft.

Carlisle was assigned the case.

• Salomon Edelstein and John Kevin Wood: Theft of means of transportation.

Conn was assigned the case.

• Ruven Joaquin Diaz: Second-degree burglary, two counts of trafficking in stolen property.

Carlisle was assigned the case.

• Keith Dwayne R. Morse: Theft of means of transportation.

Carlisle was assigned the case.

• Brandon Lee Reed: Possession of dangerous drugs (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia (methamphetamine) and driving with a suspended, revoked or cancelled license.

Conn will arraign him at 8:30 a.m. Monday.

• Jeffrey Alan Holdren: Transportation of marijuana for sale (more than two pounds) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Conn was assigned the case.

• David Scott West: Possession of dangerous drugs (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia (methamphetamine).

Conn will arraign him at 8:30 a.m. Monday.

• Adam Wayne Vandehey: Child abuse by domestic violence.

Carlisle will arraign him at 8:30 a.m. March 13.

• Austin Lloyd Atwood and Shannon Nicole Freeman: First-degree burglary, theft and first-degree criminal trespass.

Williams was assigned the case.

• Wesley William Garai: Aggravated domestic violence.

Williams was assigned the case.

• Kayla Denice Blocker: Possession of drug paraphernalia (methamphetamine).

Williams was assigned the case.

• Anthony Joseph Nicholas: Possession of drug paraphernalia (methamphetamine).

He will be arraigned at the jail at 1:30 p.m. March 14. Williams was assigned the case.

• Steve Dewayne Rubash: Promoting prison contraband, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Carlisle will arraign him at 8:30 a.m. March 13.

• Joseph Raymond Dyer, Chase Dylon Bryce Byers and Kyle William Kirby: Riot, child abuse, aggravated harassment by domestic violence and two counts of misdemeanor assault.

• Pierre Jon Hall: Failure to register as a sex offender.

Williams was assigned the case.

• Mikel Tait Schuyler: Theft of means of transportation.

Carlisle was assigned the case.
