Paving calls for closure of ramp

Doug McMurdo
Miner Staff Reporter

KINGMAN - The Blake Ranch Road westbound off-ramp on Interstate 40, milepost 66, will be closed from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday so crews with the Arizona Department of Transportation can pave the ramp and about a quarter-mile south on Blake Ranch Road.

Motorists will be detoured to DW Ranch Road at milepost 59, according to ADOT.

Access to the Petro Shopping Center will be maintained at the southern entrance parking lot. The west end parking lot, however, will be closed for 24 hours starting Monday morning.

Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures as crews continue to pave the westbound lanes. That work is expected to finish by the middle of the month, at which time crews will pave the eastbound lanes and make other improvements.

The work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 4 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Friday from 4 a.m. to noon.

Work on the nearly 15-mile project between Rattlesnake Wash and U.S. Highway 93 - from mileposts 57 to 71.5 - is scheduled for completion at the end of September.

Until then, ADOT advises motorists to use due caution.

For more information, email ADOT at or call the department's information line at (855) 712-8530.
