KINGMAN - A Kingman man who allegedly struck a swimmer while he was operating a SeaDoo July 21 was indicted on aggravated assault and leaving the scene of an accident when the Mohave County Grand Jury convened Thursday.

Donovan Joseph Durst, 39, was taken into custody on a beach at Rotary Park in Bullhead City. The 300-acre park is situated along the Colorado River.

The alleged victim told deputies he and his family were jumping off rocks into the river when Durst came into the area. The family reportedly shouted warnings to Durst that someone was in the water, but Durst ran over the person, according to a spokeswoman with the Bullhead City Police Department.

Durst reportedly asked the victim if he was OK. The man said he wasn't and asked Durst to bring him to shore, but Durst allegedly fled on his watercraft. The victim's shoulder was injured in the incident.

Police located Durst, who reportedly showed signs of intoxication. A blood draw was taken after he reportedly refused a breath test.
