KINGMAN - A Brooklyn, N.Y., woman was arrested on marijuana charges Friday morning when a Kingman Police officer stopped her for a moving violation on Interstate 40, while she was driving east between mileposts 65 and 66.
Dana J. Trexler-Beal, 45, was taken into custody after K-9 Sam sniffed the vehicle and allegedly alerted his handler to the presence of contraband.
Members of the Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team arrived to search the vehicle, which allegedly resulted in the recovery of about 4 pounds of high-grade marijuana with an estimated street value of $16,000.
The pot was in a suitcase, along with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to Kingman Police spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki.
Trexler-Beal faces felony charges of possession of marijuana for sale, transportation of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
