Couple spends three days stuck in Yucca wash

YUCCA - Two Las Vegas residents spent three days stranded in a wash near Yucca before they were rescued Sunday afternoon.

Voytek Najgrodski, 78, and Eva Skronska, 69, were traveling in a two-wheel-drive Nissan pickup when the truck became stuck in the wash, near Alamo Lake.

Officials in La Paz County alerted Mohave County to the couple's plight and four Sheriff's Search and Rescue units and a Department of Public Safety Air Ranger crew responded at about 1 p.m. and began the search.

The helicopter crew spotted the couple just before 3 p.m. Ground units made their way to the couple and found Najgrodski and Skronska in good health.

Search volunteers dislodged the truck and the two went on their way.

Article comment by: GPS Error?

Our local Yavapai County SAR volunteers rescued a couple on the south side of Alamo Lake recently, also in a Nissan 2WD.

They were attempting to reach Yucca and I-40.

I wonder if their GPS units led both pairs to think that Brown's Crossing is still passable?
