MOHAVE COUNTY - Multiple law enforcement agencies will be on the Colorado River system this week looking for impaired boat operators.
All boaters passing through the checkpoints will be subject to a systematic safety inspection.
State agencies recommend all boaters review what is required to legally launch a watercraft on state waters.
Velma Holt-Buhr, a supervisor at the Kingman office of the Arizona Game and Fish Department, said the responsibility of boaters has become increasingly important as the Colorado system has grown in popularity and is shared with Nevada and California. The legal limit on the water is the same as it is on the road: 0.08 blood alcohol content.
