PAC joins debate over taxes, school funding

Suzanne Adams-Ockrassa
Miner Staff Reporter

Another political action committee has filed in support of extending the one-cent sales tax with the Arizona Secretary of State's Office.

Expect More Arizona PAC is supporting ballot issues 118 and 204.

The political action committee supports education funding. Its website can be found at

Prop 204 would continue the one-cent sales tax that was approved by voters in 2010 to help fill a hole in the state budget that would have cut funds to education and public safety.

According to the ballot language, Prop 204 would continue the sales tax and use the fund for education, health care for underprivileged children and state infrastructure.

Proposition 118 would change the Arizona constitution and make adjustments to the State Land Trust Permanent Fund. The change would require the state to give a set amount of 2.5 percent of the average market value of the fund to schools every year.
