The Arizona Department of Transportation is set to finish its striping of U.S. 93 between Grandview Avenue to Coyote Pass from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. today through Thursday.

The work completes the $5.2 million paving project that started in 2011. It included applying an initial layer of asphalt pavement, repaving State Route 68's traffic interchange and installing new curb and sidewalk on Beale Street.

Drivers should expect delays and intermittent lane closures.

NATIONAL PARKS

In honor of those who serve and have served in the United States military, national parks around the country, including Grand Canyon National Park, will offer everyone fee-free entry during the Veterans Day weekend.

The fee free designation applies to the entire weekend Nov. 10-12. Visitors who arrive on Nov. 10, 11 or 12 will be allowed to enter the park free of charge. Those who plan to enter (or re-enter) the park after Nov. 12 will be charged the regular entrance fee.

Park visitors are reminded that the fee-free designation applies to entrance fees only and does not affect fees for camping, reservations, tours, or use of concessions.
