KINGMAN - A woman who is said to have intentionally set her RV on fire is facing arson charges.

Lana Renee Meadville, 45, of Kingman was arrested Wednesday night, a day after she reportedly set her RV on fire as it was parked at the Coyote Canyon RV Park in the 100 block of Route 66 Tuesday evening.

Neighbors told authorities who responded to the fire that they watched as Meadville set her RV on fire and then sat next to it as it burned. She reportedly had to be pulled away from the flames by the neighbors.

Meadville left before deputies with the Mohave County Sheriff's Office arrived. She was arrested around midnight Wednesday after deputies returned to the RV park and found her sleeping in her vehicle.

Trish Carter, spokeswoman for the Sheriff's Office, said Meadville confessed to deputies as she was being taken into custody, although it's not clear how or why she started the fire.

Carter added that Meadville could possibly face additional charges as the investigation continues.

: R . You did not seen to understand what I wrote.
I said that if she endangered other property she could be arrested. But it was her RV and they arrested her for arson. IT is not arson to burn your own property, unless you try to collect insurance or the RV belonged to someone else. How more simple can I put it. It was a false arrest to arrest her on arson. They could have arrested her on endangerment, having a fire without a permit, but they arrested here on arson which the article says is hers. Same as you burning a kitchen chair. Not arson.

"....someplace other than the Mohave County Mental Health Center,..."

Can we count on you to pay for the cost of her treatment at a facility that meets with your approval?

"Arson USUALLY describes fires deliberately set to the property of another or to one's own property as to collect insurance compensation"

"...ESPECIALLY with criminal or fraudulent intent"

To all the legal "experts" here: The capitalized words "USUALLY" and "ESPECIALLY" are used in the above definitions to mean "not limited to."
Bunch of know nothing know-it-alls!

I had to respond to Diogenes Lantern here.. Are you really saying that a person who would set a fire in a trailer park is not a danger to anyone but herself? Are you serious or that stupid. That fire could have killed anyone or could have spread. What if she had a gun would you be willing to say the same thing. ...ignorance ain't bliss. THINK

I hate to say it but it isn't arson unless she tries to profit from it or unless she did not own it 100% free and clear.

Reckless burning, sure. Endangerment, maybe. Arson, no way.

@mac
Try reading the ARS. According to that, this is arson. Doesn't matter who owns it.

@ az mac

It was on property owned by somebody else. She had "neighbors" which means she put others' at risk. Since she was NOT burning on her own property, it was the obligation of the fire dept to respond and extinguish the flames which put them at risk also...what's the matter with you?

This poor woman does not belong in jail. She belongs in a place where she can get psychiatric help -- someplace other than the Mohave County Mental Health Center, which is a political joke. The only person she is a danger to is herself.

The only way it can be arson is if she did not own the RV or she tried to collect insurance. It is hers to burn if she wants to. She could be arrested if it endangered other property. Another instance of stepping on our rights.
