Robert and Elaine Morrissette of Kingman celebrated 65 years of marriage on June 25, 2014. They were married on June 25, 1949, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Robert, 91, and Elaine, 89, have been residents of Kingman since 1966. Robert is past president of the Kingman Area Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. Elaine was an active member of the Soroptimist Club and spent many years as an active voice for the preservation of Kingman's historical downtown district. Robert Morrissette purchased the Mohave County Credit Bureau in 1966 and opened branches in Bullhead City and Lake Havasu City before selling the business in 1977. He went on to become a manager for Valley National Bank, which later became Bank One and now Chase Bank, receiving numerous awards and commendations. Upon retirement, Robert Morrissette worked at the Del Webb Wellness Center for many years and served on the Kingman Regional Hospital Foundation Board before stepping down last year. Robert resides in the family home on Grandview. Elaine was admitted to the Lingenfelter Center for Alzheimer's last year and Robert visits her every day. Robert and Elaine Morrissette's son, Jeffrey Morrissette, lives in Los Angeles, where he is an artist and filmmaker. Their daughter, Kimberly Hopely, is a hospital administrator in Phoenix.

Congratulations to the Morrissettes! We remember Bob and his many contributions to community activities, and were pleased to read of the very special times of this remarkable couple.
