Dominique Hale, daughter of Dan and Theresa Hale of Kingman and a 2010 graduate of Kingman High School, was named Sunshine State Conference Volleyball Player of the Week on Sept. 23.
She is a physical education major at Florida Southern College.
Hale, who is a senior middle blocker from Kingman, earned the week's SSC Defensive Player of the Week accolade after recording a total of 12 blocks in the FSC Moccasins' two wins at the SLU Lions Classic. In the win over Cedarville, Hale recorded six blocks, including a career-high three solo blocks.
She also added 10 kills and three digs in the match and then recorded six blocks, all of which assisted in the win over South Dakota School of Mines. In addition, she had five kills and two digs in that same match.
For the season, Hale leads the Mocs in blocks with 32, is averaging 0.89 per set and has had a team-best six solo blocks.
Additionally, Hale has recorded 67 kills and 16 digs and is hitting .218. She has had three or more blocks in a match six times and has had two double-digit kill matches, including career-high tying 12 kills in the Mocs' season opener against Anderson.
