Conservative Voter Turnout Lower Due to IRS Targeting.

 Linda Athens

WAS CONSERVATIVE VOTER TURNOUT LOWER DUE TO IRS TARGETING?

John Fund, a national affairs columnist for National Review Online and one of my all-time favorites, seems to think so.

First, for months, we heard the rantings and ravings from the left that simply requiring someone to show a picture ID to vote was targeting them, would cause many to be unable to vote. Evil Republicans. How could they put this terrible burden on people, most of whom were poor. Never explained adequately to me was how the poor could not provide a picture ID.

Now the truth is out or "all of this proved to be twaddle," as Fund put it. An August 2012 poll taken by the Washington Post showed nearly two-thirds of blacks and Hispanics backed photo ID. And in fact, the Census Bureau has since reported the voter turnout rate for blacks exceeded whites for the first time.

There is one group whose voting was way down, however - conservatives - and it appears the IRS gets a lot of the blame. Many were left sidelined by the IRS decision to target their Tea Party groups. The majority of the groups never got off the ground, thus stifling their efforts to get out the vote. They didn't have that 30 days to get your tax exempt status like Obama's brother Abongo did. Some are yet hanging, having never been given an IRS tax exempt determination.

The 2010 Tea Party slaughter at the polls didn't go unnoticed by this administration. So, one day after Obama spoke with the IRS head, the Tea Party targeting began. That they were targeted isn't even in question. That Lois Lerner, heading this, received during that period nearly $800,000 in pay along with $42,000 in bonuses is more than Congressmen make. Yes, IRS employees get large bonuses.

Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin verified many Tea Party groups in his state were discouraged by the actions of the IRS and many never got going.

This is Saul Alinsky stuff. Community organizer stuff. Political dirty tricks and part of the fraudulent win of Obama in 2012. No doubt about it.

Consider, some groups had to fill out a 91-page questionnaire with more questions in sub-groups. While it took the IRS forever to answer them, they would be given a couple of weeks to respond back with an amount of questions impossible to get fully answered in that short time. That, again, was part of the IRS's devious plan. Some questions, like what other groups are each of your members in, required a call to each member. None of the IRS's business, unless you were on a list of Islamic Terrorist groups.

The 2012 election was rife with fraud on the Democrat side. Every trick in the book was pulled out by the Obama people. And now Lerner is on administrative leave on full pay ie: paid vacation.

It now is coming out Mr. Obama did know about the Tea Party target. Imagine that!

The IRS continues to claim their inaction and burdensome, intrusive questions on the Tea Party people were caused by "not giving good service" (pause for laughter), mismanagement and misjudgment. Let me help them out. How about breaking the law to make sure their guy got in.

It appears by all the current scandals swirling that what Obama followers did during the 2012 election cycle is coming back to bite them, evidenced by Obama being in full diversion mode. He gave a one-hour speech today on drones (yawn!) and is going to try to shut down Gitmo. To paraphrase Jay Carney's words and Hillary's intent, Gitmo being closed down is so four years ago.

I was amused yesterday, however, with the Code Pink plant in the audience while Obama was speaking. Plants are nothing new for this administration. Lois Lerner used one the other day to gently let us know they targeted conservative groups. Liberal groups were NOT targeted to those libs who claim they were.

The Code Pink woman, who has since been on TV, is a friend and fellow dirty fighter of Obama. Code Pink traditionally come in small groups, are taken out when they start yelling. You will notice she was alone, was carefully allowed to speak, then Obama spoke saying will you let me speak. She did. Then she spoke. THEN they took her out.

And of course, she was agreeing on closing Gitmo. Their MO is to disrupt. This was not a disruption. This was a set up. Moderate? Obama then agreed she should be allowed to speak, what people have to say is important, he said.

Many are speaking. They are shouting from the rooftops. Stop with the dirty tricks.

Now the truth.

The scandal is that the IRS was not rejecting all political groups of the requests for tax-exempt status. To gain tax-exempt status, a group must be "exclusively" a social-welfare outfit, not "primarily." That is the federal law.

Say night-night to this issue freedom-haters.

Chuckles:

Your response makes no sense. It is Moveon.org/George Soros funding her organization and guess what, I saw her picture on TV tonight and the news story said she is also a big pusher of the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Remember, those great pooper on the streets people with no real agenda except to make a mess and disrupt cities unlike the Tea Party movement who define their movement as wanting smaller government, less taxes, etc.

That Bush appointed the former IRS head means zilch except that Bush picked people from both sides of the aisle. /

You again, have ignored the conflict of interest here. No surprise. You ignore all that puts your people in a bad light.

You also ignored Shulman's e-mails saying to get Karl Rove. Amazing they could find an e-mail since we now know, every department under Obama used fake e-mail names so they could do their dirty business undetected.

Is that really what the IRS head should be saying Chuckles? And then blame it all on poor customer service. What an absolute joke.

"The IRS head made 157 visits, not 117 or so.”

Not even close and why you keep posting this nonsense is … well, a mystery.

But this is what happens when you listen to right wing fools on the radio or read such trash as the Daily Caller. The absolute truth (I know, truth has no place in your lexicon) is that Schulman visited the White House only 11 times between 2009 and now (A simple Google search debunks your fairy tale). Actual journalists would have done their research and found that he was “cleared” to visit the White House 157 times to attend various policy meetings or discussions that might involve the IRS – but he ONLY visited 11 times.

And yet you keep on posting this kind of nonsense. Why?

Chuckles:

How pathetic. You don't even mention the conflict of interest. This guy, who in an e-mail said to get Karl Rove, was the head of the IRS that specifically targeted these groups. illegally.

And his wife is also targeting these groups and her funding comes from George Soros.

And you see nothing wrong with that?

So you have proven, yet again, what the difference between liberals and conservatives is.

We believe in going after lawbreakers no matter what side they are on. Break the law, you have to be held accountable.

Your side's MO. Break the law, HIDE IT, COVER IT UP.

Evidence of that is that I now know the entire administration used fake e-mails to keep others (like Mark Levin) from using the FOIA when necessary. I just wrote a blog on Lisa Jackson, former head of the EPA and after sending it in, discovered it wasn't just Jackson.

THEY ALL DO IT! So, another scandal hitting.

You don't get it do you? The entire administration is corrupt. Just like the Clintons both were in Arkansas and I followed them for years.

You see Chuckles, as the Bible says, when somethings foundation is rotten, everything built on that foundation is rotten too. It's built on two fraudulent elections, a man who has produced a fraudulent birth certificate but stated in five videos he was born in Kenya and now it's all coming down.

I love it....your rant gets shoved down, because Shulman IS a Republican appointed by Bush, cannot be denied, and you try to deflect from the truth. I love it! Makes me chuckle.

As to your rant about funding....so, tell us, is it Soros, or all the other organizations that does it.

Hardly!! What happened? Did Media Matters not cover Shulman's wife?

Then, you probably don't know this either. The recent dump of e-mails (not nearly the amount requested of course) also showed Shulman had a personal vendetta against Karl Rove and sent e-mails admonishing people to "get him".

Kind of hurts my rant? No, because you only told half the story. No surprise there.

Kind of ruined YOUR rant with this conflict of interest, didn't I?

While Dougie boy is visiting the White House a couple of times a week for years, wifie is out trying to put the axe to 501C4's.

Her group is Public Campaign, receives major funding from pro-Obama Alliance Health Care for America NOW which is made up of AFL-CIO, AFSCME.SEIU and Move on.

They also receive funding from the now liberal Ford Foundation, Common Cause (which should scare many), Barbra Streisand's The Streisand Foundation'

Public Campaign is on the 9th floor of a NW DC office along with Common Cause and Center for Progressive Leadership.

Don't you just know what Susan and Doug have been talking about over the dinner table the last few years?
.
The couple met at the John F Kennedy School of Government.

I watched Shulman's testimony. He will be back and I believe he will eventually go to prison.

Some info from The Daily Caller.

Yep, it is unbelievable because it is not true. <<<

You mean like you said my remark that the IRS head had made 117 White House visits wasn't true and I proved it was true because it was signed in on the White House log?

There was a war on Conservative voters. Are you simply ignoring the targeting of the Conservative Tea Party, Patriots and many more? All designed to keep them from getting votes.

Hard to believe how, when presented with truth, you simply IGNORE IT!

Illegals can't register? Are you joking? They found 100 originally, then 100,000. Of the 100, 50 had already illegally voted. Napolitano refused to give FL Homeland Security rolls to help them ferret out the illegals.

That in itself was blocking having a legit election. Napolitano should have been fired for that one incident. There are so many more with her.

Please name ONE LIE Scott told.

“No, there was no war on minority voters.”

Incorrect and actual news stories and investigative reports have indicated that to actually be the case.

“Surely you are for only legals voting. It certainly would not be right for illegals to vote, don''t you agree?”

Surely you know that illegal cannot vote because they are unable to register, right?

“Gov. Rick Scott said 100 individuals had already been found that were non-citizens on the rolls…”

And how many thousands were illegally removed from the rolls and BTW, Scott lied.
“What ought to bother you is that they found more than 100,000 not qualified to vote. Doesn''t that bother you?”

Since that – as everything else Scott said - was a lie, no, it doesn’t bother me at all.

“You seem to assume everyone registering illegally was a Democrat minority.”

No, that would be your assumption. What we KNOW is that the Republicans attempted major fraudulent voter registration that was so vile it shut down registration in five states. What should have taken place was every single person registered by the Republicans should have been removed from the tolls.

“Try to connect the dots.”

Believe me we have and those dots show major activities to restrict minority and disadvantaged voters from casting their ballots.

Ex GOP: Reading your post, it is better you are an ex GOP I think.

The war on minority voters in Florida? No, there was no war on minority voters. It is a legal necessity to remove NON-CITIZENS who have no right to vote from the rolls. It just happens, most of those there illegally were minorities.

Surely you are for only legals voting. It certainly would not be right for illegals to vote, don''t you agree?

Eric Holder''s DOJ was suing Florida over it. Can you imagine, the head of the Department of Justice being for non-citizens being left on the rolls? Only Holder could get away with that.

Gov. Rick Scott said 100 individuals had already been found that were non-citizens on the rolls and 50 of them had voted illegally before. Therefore, it was necessary to go through all of them. Fifty votes alone could decide the outcome of an election after all.

My Mother, as County Recorder here for years, always had to go through the rolls and take out those who had died, moved,

Rick Scott said he has an obligation to uphold the laws of the land. He took an oath saying as much. And those registering that are non-citizens don''t get to vote. It''s that simple. You libs can calling it purging minorities if you want but that is simply false.

What ought to bother you is that they found more than 100,000 not qualified to vote. Doesn''t that bother you? And before a major election is exactly the time you need the rolls to be correct. That would be common sense, wouldn''t you agree? You seem to assume everyone registering illegally was a Democrat minority. That should tell YOU yourself something.

This should tell you something also. Florida was suing the Department of Homeland Security because they refused to give Florida the database to determine if people were here legally. That TOO should tell you something.

Try to connect the dots.

This really cracked me up. First, you wanted Perry, Bachman, Cain, Newt, Palin....every Republican flavor of the week. Then you settled on Romney, even though you said yourself that as a "Good Christian Woman" you could never vote for a Mormon. When Mitt got trounced in the election, and I admit, I voted Gary Johnson, was not thrilled with either choice, you said Obama cheated. Which we know he didn't. You cried voter fraud, which we know the Republicans tried to pull and got caught. Now you are using the IRS as your excuse? Priceless.

Just so you know, the guy in charge of the IRS when this happened is a Republican appointed by Bush...even more priceless!!

Linda, Linda, Linda, I must say you have learned the art of cherry picking polls and stats that conform to your narrow-minded world view, very well. I notice you conveniently ignored the legislative war on minority voters being waged by republicans in Florida, where the gov purged the voter rolls of 100,000 names on a 'technicality' over 90% were hispanic or black. The attorney general refused to validate the action and subsequent info verfication restored most of the names. South Carolina, reublican legilature quickly passed laws eliminating early voting, which aids people with transportation issues usually poor people. Why didn't they do any of this in 2000 or 2004? Alabama fights to cancel parts of the voting rights act while the states 40% black population has 5% representation in the state house. This is political guerilla warfare on the state level nationwide. As far as the IRS, there you go again Linda, Obama targeted conservatives? Really? I smell a rat, mainly the Bush appointed IRS commissioner at the time this all began. Remember, establishment conservatives feared the T-party more than the dems did. Oh, and here's the kicker, Lois Lerner is gonna administer Obamacare! omg! Linda, the truth will set you free.Obamacares has no medical procedures, it assistance to purchase healthcare insurance from private companies competing for business on the exchange. Free market at its finest. IRS only verfies income to qualify, that it. Benghazi, that faded away when the Wall Street Journal published online all the emails and everyone found out the CIA was the culprit of the revised talking points, not Obama or Susan Rice. Curses foiled again! Mrs. Rice is everything the republicans hate, she's a woman, she's black and she's educated. She would make a great cabinet choice when Hillary wins in 16. There is a silver linig here, the republicans are preoccupied with trying to tag a lame duck so they don't have time to increase spending by 60%, double the debt and collapse the world ecnomy like they did last time they had power. I am definitely ex GOP

When asked to turn in her resignation, Lois Lerner refused.

The reason? She knows the federal rules. Saying no, she automatically goes on adminstrative leave receiving her entire $180,000 annual salary.

It will take 36 months for that process. Then, she will have another 36 months with full pay while she uses government paid for attorneys to rebuke the charges against her.

In all, six years of full pay while sitting home. Unbelievable isn't it.

Had she a shred of decency, she would resign. She doesn't or she would never have signed off on what she did.

We need this rule changed.
