Arizona and the U.N.
This is week old news, as I'm sure you're all aware. But I wanted to bring to your attention this story compared to the U.N. coming into Arizona and falsely investigating human rights violations. With no argument from our federal government, the U.N. came into my state and investigated (essentially accusing us of violating U.N. Human Rights) and ignore this kind of stuff in China.
What kind of U.N. bias is this? They survive because of the United States. They are housed on donated land in the U.S. We support them to the tune of a quarter of their budget. And for the most part, we play fair - unlike the rest of the world.
I think it's criminal of our government to allow this bias from an organization that we support. But the criminal part of this is that our government is moving so left, so fast that we are starting to fit in with the bias of the U.N. We are all but admitting that we violate human rights and we do it in the hated state of Arizona.

Oh, and to all of you - Happy New Year.

America lost the high ground long ago during the vietnam era, Mai Lai Massacre cover up, slap on the wrist given to the participants, Abu Gharib merely was more of the same, rendition and enhanced interrogation are just another name for kidnapping, torture, the Nazi's also justified their actions using nationalism to justify it, we now keep the public from seeing the bloody reality of our foreign adventures, with the cute shadowy videos showing drones missiles hitting shadowy figures, the rest of the world sees the bloody reality and hence we are not respected but as mere hypocrites! No one respects a hypocrite, we are a empire in decline, corrupt, self interested self serving as all old empires are! And one thing about history that remains the same all empires eventually fade to just a country with a former greatness!

It takes a really ugly, narrow-minded and highly biased viewpoint to deny that the United States has not violated human rights, both here and abroad.
This nation had hegemony over the entire world since the end of WWII and in the name of profits (i.e., oil, metals, and other valuable materials) violated human rights around the globe. This is plain, ordinary history.
We are losing that hegemony with the advent of the emerging nations, but we still continue to violate human rights broadly here at home. Just ask any minority or poverty stricken individual or family. I'd tell you to ask the politicians and elite here in Arizona, but they are all in denial of reality so they can continue to line their pockets.
You and your husband probably do well, but you are still middle-class, which makes me wonder why you and much of the rest of the state support the degradation of the middle-class and the lower classes by the wealthy elite. It's like you're stabbing yourselves in the back and breaking your own arm to do it.
