Diary of a Mad Conservative: Are you prepared for the worst?

 Roxanne Thurlow

I'm afraid that we're not. I'm not prepared for what will happen if - God forbid - Obama is re-elected. I think we are less likely to see conservatives take to the streets in that case. Conservatives are much more civil than leftists. But if Romney wins, we are more likely to see rioting.

Based on the article I read this morning on Infowars.com via Drudge, it sounds like we could see some dangerous deeds after the election. Some of the tweets reproduced there are pretty chilling - and illiterate.

My sister-in-law Dena has stockpiled light bulbs and food. I haven't, at least not to any major extent. Certainly not like she has. I have lots of rice - LOL. But I'm not prepared like many people seem to be. We have not gone out and purchased guns or additional ammo for the one firearm that we've had for over 35 years. I admit that we've been to the pawn shops and looked.

On the other hand, I'm not anticipating riots in my little Arizona town either. If they occur, I envision them happening in our cities and urban areas. Therefore, the best thing for us is to stockpile food and money and prepare for shortages due to high gas prices and some possible rioting.

We planted a survival garden this year and ate everything out of it. Well, almost everything. I was able to dehydrate peppers. But we ate all the tomatoes. Our fruit trees are too young to produce enough fruit for canning or freezing. Hopefully next year we'll have some kind of crop.

But being prepared is not a stupid or looney idea. Natural and unnatural disasters occur all over the country and the world and shortages of food and products could easily happen. We've seen that in higher cotton and peanut butter prices just this year.

There are countless websites and videos all over the internet to assist and instruct on this topic. Take advantage of the internet - while we still have electricity.

If it is taken as axiom that all politicians & supporters are Mad, then that data can be collated and an average politician or supporter identified, therefore they will be normal & unable to remain as a politician or supporter since they will no longer be considered Mad enough. If this is done enough times there will no longer be any politicians.

“…so he can add to the 16 TRILLION DOLLAR DEBT HE HAS IMPOSED ON US, OUR CHILDREN, GRANDCHILDREN, GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.”

Incorrect data. The President inherited nearly 11 trillion dollars in debt left behind by The Criminal and then moved the actual funding of the two wars started by The Criminal into the budget – something The Criminal refused to do in an attempt to hide his god-awful expenditures. Accuracy in reporting is vital.

Oops this requires correcting – “A number of conservative even on here are too lazy to even ferret out factual information so don't think around here we will have to worry too much.”

There you go, NOW it reads correctly. And I cite my reasoning based on Birther Loon nonsense, SS# nonsense, homosexuality nonsense, Churchill Bust nonsense, Solyndra nonsense, and … well, you get the point. The usual suspects are severely deficient when it comes to truth telling.

Insanity has been defined as essentially repeating the same mistake and expecting a different result. So, which of the following reflects madness? Romney/Bain free market PRIVATE capital invested in AMC Entertainment, Burger King, Burlington Coat Factory, Clear Channel Communications, Domino's Pizza, Dunk n' Donuts, Guitar Center, The Sports Authority, Staples, Toys "R" Us, Warner Music Group. Obama/lame invested TAXPAYER dollars in Solyndra (bankrupt), Ener 1 (bankrupt), Beacon Power (bankrupt), Abound Solar (bankrupt), Amonix Solar (bankrupt), Spectra Watt (bankrupt), Eastern Energy (bankrupt). ALL of these bankrupt companies were Obama campaign contributors. "Change you can believe in." The business man "money hider" generated billions of dollars for employees and investors. The socialist lawyer presidential pretender wasted TRILLIONS of YOUR money on companies, many of which outsourced (foreign) for materials. Yes, vote for Obama so he can add to the 16 TRILLION DOLLAR DEBT HE HAS IMPOSED ON US, OUR CHILDREN, GRANDCHILDREN, GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. Not only will we have the history of the companies that wasted tax dollars and declared bankruptcy, we as a nation will be bankrupt. Welcome to the socialist United Sates of Greece.

“I just pray that those few traditional Americans that are left in the Democratic party will use the common sense they still have and not re-elect this socialist president!”

Actually true Americans are supporting the president and not some anti-American sleaze whose specialty is bankrupting American companies, putting American workers out the street, stealing the pensions of American workers, taking health care away from American families, while sending American jobs to COMMUNIST CHINA where he invested in sweat shops and companies that specialize in the stealing of American’s intellectual properties – and then hiding his wealth off shore where it would never benefit America, American businesses or American workers. And where are those tax returns and his real birth certificate?

Of the two, Obama is the only choice. And he will win in November.

“Our dollar will fall soon and prices will go sky high.”

Let’s see in the Summer of 2011 you said the dollar would collapse in the Fall, in the Fall you said the dollar would collapse before the end of the year. In January or February you said the dollar would collapse in the Spring of this year, in the Spring you predicted the collapse during the Summer and in the Summer you said it would collapse this Fall. Now you are saying “soon.” Admit it – you don’t have a clue.

“They have actavated and staffed the FEMA camps.”

Where are these camps? You once mentioned a huge camp in Alaska that would hold two-million people and yet nowhere can any photographs of such a place be found and to staff such a facility would take – at minimum 2.5 million people. Once again, you don’t have a clue.

Don't ya think the tree has to be shaken before the apples will fall down? Sure, it is taking some time for Obama to clean up everything his predeceasor(s) has done. After all, even the conglomerates were not built in a day (or even in 4 years). He has certainly shaken some up, and have changed the rules on them so they are more consumer friendly. It's obvious to SOME of us that they are insiduously trying to make him look either sinister or ineffectual, just so they can continue their rape of the middle and lower classes. I'm happy to see that they are having to work so hard, which means that there are a lot of people who believe that the current Administration is on the right path to a kind and prosperous society maybe slow because of the big business obstacles, but getting there!

“Obama has had plenty of time to 'fix' Bush's mess-and guess what-it's worse!”

There is more than just time involved in the “new” guy fixing the mess left by the last guy. There needs to be a commitment by everyone to fix the mess – and by that I mean all employees of the “company.” The company in this case is the United States and when you have people who have made it abundantly clear their only goal is block anything and everything proposed by the “new” guy, then the “company” will continue to fail.

There is no doubt that the economic mess was created by The Criminal, and the “new” guy – not realizing that the employees (The House of Representatives) would do everything in their power to be obstructionists – has been thwarted at every turn.

His economic stimulus program was vilified by the Republicans as they all lined up to get funds for their constituents (see Lil Ayn Ryan caught in a lie by Joe Biden) – has been a success. The auto loan program saved over a million American Jobs. But the “new” guys jobs bills have been blocked by the Republciancs preventing the creation of another million jobs – proving the Republicans are not really interested in creating jobs.

So yes, the “new” guy has not been as successful as we had hoped, but the responsibility lies strictly with the Republicans.

Remember – intelligent people never vote for a Republican, at any level of government.

Im at a point now. I really dont care who wins. Im not going to benefit either way. I could lose with either candidate.

This is the same with a higher majority then many will ever admit. Our congress commands what is and will always be the fate of the people on a daily basis. Nothing is going to change by changing a president OR a party for the little person. If you disagree just look how congress treats itself. We will never see any member of the house or senate having a hard time replacing a broken refridgerator.

You want to talk about healthcare. Just check out the healthcare they have compared to any in the private sector. Nobody could afford coverage to equal a senators.

Im not an Obama fan or a Rommey fan. They really mean nothing. However, I cant help but laugh when I read its Obamas fault or bushes fault. As for Obama failing to change anything or "fix" any mess in four years. You have to remember the previous party had 12 years to put into place. No party can change anything after that time in 4 years.

IF President Obama is elect he may have some sucess in the next 4 years to show some of the change everyone expected to see in the blink of an eye. IF Mitt wins. I expect to see alot of shutting down anything done by Obama then a slide back to the early part of the decade.

Either way I hardly think mass riots will occur. Im sure there will be a few in lower income minority neighborhoods. Hoarding supplies due to this election is alittle paranoid. Life for the middleclass wont change either way. We will see more taxes and less income. Same old thing as always.

A lot of people supporting obama are too lazy to riot. Frankly, it takes a lot of energy to go out and riot and while it certainly is a possibility, again, I just think many are too lazy.

A number of liberals even on here are too lazy to even ferret out factual information so don't think around here we will have to worry too much.

@ Melissa Bosshard

Are you serious? Did you really think that Obama could walk into office and clean up (as you call it) the mess with two wars going on? He didn't stand a realistic chance with the mess he was handed. I for one am not willing to let all those deaths in Afganistan to go unanswered. We cannot just packup and walk out like Russia did. This war "HAS" to be won. And as far as the economy, do you really think that Obama could fix the economy in 4 years with the war going on? I'm sorry but I think your out of touch with reallity.

If worst comes, whether from breakdown of society or natural event, then #1&2 considerations are air & water. You can live with only air & water for quite a long while. Some with various illness require medication to live and that's right behind water in survivability for some. A garden is agreat idea under most times,(Keep it Hidden) One warning with a garden is danger of infiltration by subversive elements that could spray poison on your garden at night to kill you.(Cyanide) Have seen jealous rivalries with pride in gardens here in Kman take to sabotage of neighbors gardens with salt water, so this is not as unlikely as it may seem at first.
Of high concern will be energy supply, if gasoline is cut off then even running a generator is out. Cooking with small fire has always been an option, and candle or oil lantern have done well for light at night. Solar is good if sunshines through possible smoke in worst situation, wind too can be harnessed. Above all else is a volunteer emergency group ready to manually print the Miner, Ben Franklin could tell you how important information is.If there is a really an "enemy" then it needs accurate identification, highly unlikely to be Republicans or Democrats.

I still don't think it will happen in any neighborhood. We as Americans have come a long way, the fact that we have our first black/half black or whatever fits your definition says alot. There would be no real, logical reason to riot.

Accountable! Please explain to us how both parties are
Claiming if elected they would "cut" our taxes when again
Were broke? Please don't insult us the voters by telling
Us what you would do then change your position after elected! The facts are the facts! Taxes are going up the cost of living going up and anybody who says different we don't trust.

Hey, remember when everyone thought that Obama would make guns and ammo illegal, so they stockpiled guns and ammo? Back in 2009, remember that? And remember how none of the doomsday predictions spouted off as the result of Obama's election came true?

Furthermore you can't pick and choose what you read on infowars.com - if you accept any of their items as news you need to accept them all: That the government is trying to give you cancer with GMO food and flouride in your water and kill your children with vaccinations. And that for the children that live pedophile TSA agents are actively trying to abduct and exploit as many kids as possible.

I completely agree with you that learning valuable life skills, such as gardening, are great. Not because you plan to survive the apocalypse, but simply because it's responsible. You might also try reducing how much waste you produce or oil you consume now to get used to this lifestyle after the apocalypse. Or, you know, to prevent one. Ironically, living like this because it's nice is to be a crazy progressive liberal. But to live like this out of fear is to be a good conservative.

And finally, Romney wil create jobs... most likely through deregulation that creates yet another economic bubble. Housing and credit? S&Ls? Tulips and railways? Which candidate will regulate higher education and student loans to keep the University of Phoenix from creating the next bubble?

You are exactly correct about our present state of political affairs. The Democratic party has been hijacked by every nontraditional American group that you can think of! I just pray that those few traditional Americans that are left in the Democratic party will use the common sense they still have and not re-elect this socialist president!

Riots can be dealt with, but "fundamentally change of America" might be irreversible!

The Worst That Can Happen are you on drugs? The middle class and poor have been taking a beating during Obama's term. Food, gasoline, health insurance, utilities, building materials, etc.have all gone up since Obama took office. Wages, for those who have jobs, haven't increased accordingly. State and local governments are raising taxes and fees to offset fewer Federal tax dollars. Tax dollars that the Obama administration has no problem spending. America is still looking for a president who is in touch with the "real world". Bush wasn't and Obama isn't either.

"Conservatives are much more civil than leftists."
So civil they'll scream for the government to keep its hands off their gun rights but argue for rules that control people's reproductive rights.
So civil they'll flood the Internet with images of a hanging Obama, using imagery that does nothing but reinforce white power.
So civil they'll use words like "urban" and "illiterate" to describe and denigrate those not like them.
So civil they'll redefine rape to meet their needs for power.
So civil they'll deny proven science to enforce their twisted perception of reality.
So civil they think a corporation has more rights than a homosexual.
So civil they deny that their blatantly racist behavior is anything but.
So civil they'll thump the Bible but ignore the teachings of Jesus.
