Freeda Jean Neal

Freeda Jean (Rist) Neal, 66, of Kingman passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. Steve Petrauschke of Central Christian Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held at noon at Sutton's. Burial will follow the funeral at Mountain View Cemetery, 1301 Stockton Hill Road.

Freeda was born in Los Angeles on April 23, 1946. She graduated from Glendora High School. Following family, she moved to Kingman in 1973. She married the love of her life, Marc Neal, on June 10, 1978; they shared almost 35 years of marriage together.

She worked as a waitress for King's Arms restaurant, where she met one of her very best friends, Linda Tyree, as well as her future husband, Marc. She quickly took to the ranching life, cooking meals for the cowboys, enjoying the openness of the ranch and taking care of the many ranch animals. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, spoiling her grandkids and spending the summers on the Oregon coast. Over the years she met many wonderful friends, saddened to leave them over the summers, but always excited to come back home to them. She often looked forward to lunching, shopping and movies with the girls - Faye Keatley, Shirley Buck and Diana Rabai.

Freeda is survived by her husband, Marc; his mother, Rita; her oldest son, Rick Neal; his wife, Teresa; grandson, Austin; and granddaughter, Alex; son, Mike Neal; grandsons, Marcus and Kenny; granddaughter, Sarah; daughter, Dawn Neal Wright; her husband, Casey Wright; and granddaughters, Kaesha and D'alene. She is also survived by her brother, Charles Rist, and his wife, Jan; sister in-law Ann Rist; many nephews and nieces; as well as many other beloved family and friends.

Freeda is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Onyx Rist; her father, J.D. Rist; and brother, James Rist.

Flowers may be sent to Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, 1701 Sycamore Ave.
