Abner Cox

Abner Hubert Cox passed away on Monday, March 18, 2013, in Orem, Utah, of natural causes.

Born April 2, 1925, in Mayer, Ariz., to Hugh O'Donald Cox and Ada Lela Smith Cox, Hubert was the oldest of five brothers and one sister. He married Almeta Kiplinger in 1947, after World War II. She preceded him in death on Nov. 19, 1981. He married Geraldine in March 1982. He was a Navy veteran of WW II. He worked and retired as a mechanic after several years at Sands Chevrolet in Phoenix and Mohave County Road Department in Kingman. He loved fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Geri; a brother, Lonnie (Nancy) Cox of Kingman; a sister, Lela May Frizzell of Apache Junction, Ariz.; four sons and two daughters, Carl McCuistion (Pansy) of Phoenix, Johnny Anderson (Kay) of Flagstaff, Donna Ross (Fred) of Oklahoma, Larry Cox (Jackie) of Kingman, Hubert Lee Cox (Kathy) of Chino Valley, Ariz., and Evelyn Cox of Tucson. Hubert leaves behind 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and adopted grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 21, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 610 Eastern St. in Kingman. Family and friends may call at 9 a.m. prior to services at the same location. The family requests that instead of flowers, do a kind deed for someone.

Prayers go out to the Cox family, especially Geri, just heard about Hubert, so sorry for your loss. Know you all are in our thoughts and prayers. Hubert was a special man and will be greatly missed. May you be comforted in this time of loss and it is go great to know that we will all be together again someday. Love the Masten Family

My heart goes out to the family, especially to son Larry and his wife Jackie. I know it was very hard for them. May he rest in peace. Stay strong and remember all the good times and the valuable lesson he taught you. God bless you all and take care.

what a great guy! he taught me how to operate heavy equipment when i was just a very young man...so long ago. R.I.P hubert. you where truly my friend
