Obituary: Carol Anne Brooks

Carol Anne Brooks, 72, went home to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in Kingman. Carol was born on Sept. 11, 1940, in Willows, Calif. Carol married Don Brooks on Sept. 21, 1974. The two blended their families, her two girls, his son and daughter. They were also blessed with a daughter of their own. Carol and Don moved the family to Kingman in 1988.

Carol was a devoted wife and mother who loved the Lord with all her heart. She was the true definition of a Christian. While Carol worked sporadically over the years, her favorite job was being a teacher's aide at Cedar Hills School. She loved teaching children to read. Carol and her husband, Don, helped form the Cedar Hills Community Church. She wanted to bring the Word of God to everyone. Her love for the Lord¹s work knew no bounds. She prayed ceaselessly for her family and friends.

Carol is survived by her husband of 38 years, Don; her four daughters, Debbie Place (Joseph) of Prescott, Juliet Starr of Kingman, Sandy Grandgenett (Alan) of Aberdeen, N.C., and Becky Brooks of Kingman; grandchildren, Don Starr (Renee) of Kingman, Jessica Place of Winston-Salem, N.C., Elizabeth Place of Tucson, Ashley Place of Tempe, Bobby Brambley, Matthew Brambley, and Jacob Brambley, all of Kingman, Brooke Grandgenett and Ryan Grandgenett of Aberdeen; great grandchildren, Kyle, Angel, and Connor Starr of Kingman.

Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Helen; brothers, Mike, Wayne and Bill; and son, Tim Brooks.

The family wishes to thank the amazing staff at The Joan and Diana Hospice Home in Kingman. Everyone who came into contact with Carol and her family was so supportive and loving. Thank you for making her last days comfortable and filled with love.

A memorial service celebrating Carol's life is at noon on Friday, April 5, at Cedar Hills Community Church, 9188 E. Dally Drive. The church is located 15 miles east of Kingman; phone (928) 757-1618. A luncheon will follow the service.
