KINGMAN - After a disappointing 4-5 loss to Prescott on March 7, the Kingman High girls tennis team rebounded to win five in a row, including a 7-2 win over Phoenix Sandra Day O'Connor Monday afternoon.
"I have been so proud of the girls and how far they have come," said KHS coach Traci Rosenbach.
Natalie Casson improved to 8-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 win over O'Connor's Gabi Wallen. Cortney McCans also improved to 8-0 with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Paityn Jaquess.
"We didn't know what to expect from Sandra Day O'Connor since we don't play anyone on the same schedule," Rosenbach said. "The girls came out firing and were ready for anything."
Other singles winners included Gabby Huffer (6-1, 6-4) over Sage Fazzi; Alejandrina Zapata (0-6, 6-4, 10-8) over Maddie Bennett; and Lara Iozzo (6-1, 6-3) over Selia Gartley. Trudy Massie lost her match to Madison Hernandez.
