KINGMAN - In a rematch of last year's 3A Charter Athletic Association title game, it pretty much went the same as Kingman Academy's 13-6 softball win in 2012.

The Lady Tigers scored three runs in the bottom of the first and added three in the third and four in the fourth for a 10-0 win over Mesa Heritage Friday afternoon.

"The score really doesn't show how good of a team they are," said KAHS coach Amber Freed. "For whatever reason, they just couldn't string hits together."

Kylie Tomlinson limited Heritage to five hits while striking out two for the complete game win.

"I finally got down what I wanted to get down," Tomlinson said of her early season struggles in which she has issued a lot of walks. On Friday she didn't walk anybody. "I used all the games at the beginning to improve my pitching."

Tomlinson led KAHS (5-1) at the plate with two doubles and a run scored. Taylor Shaw tripled in the first inning.

"That was probably the best game we played all year. We came out loose and relaxed and got some awesome hits and scored some runs," Freed said.

The Lady Tigers hosted EVAC on Saturday and will travel to West Phoenix on Friday before returning home April 13 against Gilbert Early.
