Kingman South, North meet up for TOC title

Rodney Haas
Miner Sports Reporter

KINGMAN - RJ Boslet struck out 10 Lake Havasu North hitters Friday night to lead the Kingman North Nationals to a 6-3 win and a trip to the championship game of the Minor's Tournament of Champions in Lake Havasu City.

"I'm very proud of my boys," said Nationals manager Andy Patterson.

Tyler Parker had a stand-up triple to drive in a pair of runs and Nationals catcher Kobe Nugent nailed a would-be base stealer with his throw to third baseman Gabe Krabe, one of the defensive highlights of the game.

North played the Kingman South Giants Saturday for the TOC title. The Giants earned a spot in the finals with a 12-0 win over Mohave Valley.

"They have some good pitchers," Patterson said of the Giants. "They are a good team and we stuck with them."

The Nationals lost to the Giants 15-9 on May 11 in an interleague game.

Regardless of who wins, Patterson said it's been a great season for his team and his players.

However, some players won't have much time for rest as the 9-10 All Star tournament kicks off next weekend in Kingman.

According to Paterson, teams will be practicing beginning on Monday at Southside Park.

Kingman North will open the tournament Saturday against Kingman South.
