KINGMAN - Quinn Garcia drove in five runs and Pryce Portillo four as the Kingman Academy High baseball team blasted Greyhills Academy in Tuba City Tuesday, 17-0. Garcia, Westin McCord and Lance Martin combined for the five-inning, 10-run rule no-hitter over the Fightin' Knights.

Kingman Academy (2-0 D-III, 6-0) belted out 14 hits in the game with all but two Tigers collecting a base knock.

The Tigers began methodically by scoring two runs in the first inning, one in the second and three in the third.

The game was put out of reach when the Tigers put up five runs in the fourth and six more in the fifth.

The Garcia, McCord and Martin trio allowed just two base runners - one reached on an error and the other was hit by a pitch.

McCord went 4-for-5 at the plate, stole three bases and scored three runs. Garcia doubled and Tarik Skubal and Portillo each had a triple.

On Saturday, Kingman Academy reached the championship game at the Bagdad Copper Classic after defeating the Sultans in the semifinals, 7-5. The Tigers were scheduled to face Wickenburg for the championship, but the game was postponed due to rain. The two teams are scheduled to meet March 28 in the regular season at Southside Park, and that game will also count as the championship game.

Kingman Academy plays today in the Kingman High School Baseball Classic. The Tigers face Havasu at 9:30 a.m. and River Valley at 1:30 p.m. at KHS.
