LWHS' Narvarte comes in second at Red Rock meet
Allred fourth in the 3,200 and Barnes as well in the 400 for the Volunteers at large invitational

KINGMAN - It was a busy day at the Sedona Red Rock High School track for the Lee Williams boys and girls track teams last Saturday. The Volunteers competed against 18 boys and 19 girls teams at the event.

The Lee Williams boys finished in 15th place, scoring 13 points. Snowflake won the meet with 86.5. The Lady Vols came in tied for 14th with Mayer and Flagstaff. All three teams scored 14, and Red Rock came in first with 76.5 points.

The Volunteers' boys squad ended the meet with three top-10 finishes. Giancarlo Narvarte had the highest, coming in second in the high jump at 6 feet, 2 inches.

Brendon Allred was fourth in the 3,200 meters with a time of 10 minutes, 51.71 seconds. McGregor Octave scored a ninth-place finish in the triple jump with a total of 37-07.

The girls squad had five top-10 finishes, including Megan Barnes, who had two individually and one with the 4x400 relay team.

The relay team came in third at 4:44.97 and included Noelle Araujo, Jackie Millim and Marli Lauck.

Barnes was fourth in the 400, running a time of 1:07.13. She was seventh in the 800 (2:44.82).

Caroline Toler was ninth for the Lady Vols in the 3,200 with a time of 15:58.37. Lauck's top finish was in the triple jump. She was eighth at 28-07.

The Volunteers will next compete as hosts of the Lee Williams Multi at 3 p.m. Wednesday at LWHS.
