KINGMAN - In a game that started March 24 in Wickenburg and ended Monday at Kingman High, the Bulldogs scored twice in the ninth inning for a 5-3 non-section win.
The game was suspended in March at 3-3 after seven innings because of darkness. When the game resumed Monday, Tyler Logas drove in a run with an RBI triple and scored on Tyler Julle's sacrifice fly. Logas was the winning pitcher.
In the regularly scheduled game immediately following, Kingman (5-7) used an 11-hit attack to put away the Wranglers, 15-6. Logas stayed on the mound to start for the Bulldogs, throwing three shutout innings before being relieved.
Lukas Butler belted a double and a home run in the second game. Logas also went deep, and Joey Scott went 2-for-3 with two doubles against Wickenburg (5-8).
Kingman hosted Mohave (5-6) in a non-section game Tuesday. The Bulldogs beat Mohave in the KHS baseball tournament March 6, 7-3. Results from Tuesday's game were not available by deadline.
Lady Bulldogs beat Mingus
KINGMAN - The Kingman High girls tennis team earned their second Division II, Section 3 win of the season Monday, beating Mingus at KHS, 6-3.
Earlier in the season, Mingus (3-6, 1-2 S3) got a win over Kingman in Cottonwood, 5-4.
"The girls played well (Monday)," said KHS coach Laura Hilfinger. "It was great to play them again and get the win."
Kingman (4-8, 2-2 S3) scored five of its points from Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 singles. Cortney McCans (6-1, 6-2), Lara Iozzo (6-0, 6-3), Trudy Massie (6-2, 6-1), Sacha Kessler (7-6 (5), 3-6, 10-7) and Natalie Collings (6-2, 6-3) were victorious.
McCans and Massie teamed up for a win at No. 1 doubles, 8-2. Kingman wraps up the regular season at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Flagstaff (9-4, 2-0 S3).
Kingman falls to Wickenburg
KINGMAN - The Lady Bulldogs suffered their fifth consecutive loss on Monday. Kingman (2-11) fell at Wickenburg (7-6) in a non-section game, 6-3.
The Lady Bulldogs host Lake Havasu (3-7) in another non-section game at 3:45 p.m. Thursday at KHS.
