KINGMAN - If it takes a perfect game to get by the No. 20 seed, what does the Kingman Academy High baseball team have to do to beat No. 4?

The answer will start to be answered at 6:30 tonight on Field No. 4 of the Surprise Sports Complex. That's when the Tigers, seeded No. 13, take on No. 4 Page in the Division III state tournament.

KAHS knocked off No. 20 Willcox 1-0 last week in Surprise in the first round, scoring its only run in the first inning with a triple by Westin McCord followed by a sacrifice fly by Austin Tomlinson.

That was all the support Tarik Skubal needed. The senior faced the minimum 21 batters over the course of seven innings, striking out 14 of them. The Tigers handled the seven chances flawlessly to preserve the Skubal's perfect game and advance.

A win today will advance the Tigers to an 11 a.m. contest Saturday on Field No. 4 against the winner of the Palo Verde Magnet-Snowflake game. Magnet is the No. 5 seed, Snowflake No. 12. The winner of that quarterfinals game returns for the seminfals on May 16.
