Miner Staff Reporter

KINGMAN - Colorado River Ford I outscored Kingman Premier Properties 7-3 over the final two innings to grab sole possession of first place in the Kingman Softball Association Men's A division Monday at Centennial Park. CRF I walked off the field with the win, 19-15.

After KPP (5-2) went down in order to open the game, CRF I put five runs across the plate on the heels of home runs by Ryan Shultz and Tony Santos. KPP quickly responded with five runs in the top of second on five consecutive base hits.

CRF I went back on top with three runs in the second and four in the third, while KPP scored single runs in the third and fourth. Trailing 12-7 in the top of the fifth, KPP once again rallied to tie things up as Chris Chavez homered in the inning.

After CRF I scored those seven runs late, KPP tried to rally in the seventh but only scored three on another Chavez home run.

Schultz led CRF I with five hits, and Joey Meins and Dustin Mote each had four. Shane Durago and Albert Logan had three, and Santos, Emery Rogers, Jonny Meins and Kiley Rogers had two. Meins also had a home run. Kam Dooley had one.

Chavez and Jeff Dover each collected four hits for KPP. Hunter Davis finished with three, and Mike Wozniak, Steven Hoague, Jamie Cobb and Scott Stevio each had two. Chad Baitinger and Jonny Rice had one each.

The Men's A division is back in action on Field No. 7 with three games at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
