Pumpkin Patrol seeks donations

KINGMAN - The Kingman Police Explorers are asking for candy and cash donations for its 39th Annual Pumpkin Patrol.

The Pumpkin Patrol is made up of police officers, Explorers and other volunteers who patrol the neighborhoods on Halloween night handing out bags of candy to trick-or-treaters.

Pumpkin Patrol vehicles can be identified by the plastic pumpkins attached to the overhead lights of the patrol cars and other department vehicles.

Police said the Pumpkin Patrol helps to ensure the safety of kids on the streets. The added police presence also helps to divert the mischief often associated with Halloween night.

The Pumpkin Patrol depends on local businesses and residents for cash donations to purchase candy as well as donations of individually wrapped candy.

Cash donations are tax-deductible and donors will be given a receipt. Checks should be made payable to the Kingman Police Department Explorer Post 47.

Candy donations can be dropped of at the Kingman Police Department from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the station at 2730 E. Andy Devine Ave..

Cash donations should be received no later than October 22 and candy donations can be received until October 25.

For more information, contact Tiffiny Reed at the Kingman Police Department at (928) 753-2191.
