Varicose vein options topic for talk

Kingman Regional Medical Center and The Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center host a Thursday talk by Dr. Douglas Brandt on, "Varicose Veins: Exciting New Treatment Options."

As a diagnostic radiologist, Brandt is skilled in interpreting X-rays, mammograms, ultrasounds, MRI scans, CT scans, and nuclear medicine scans, including PET. He is also skilled in image-guided medical procedures such as inserting catheters in veins, draining abscesses and performing biopsies, which can be performed much safer with image guidance.

Brandt attended Baylor University, where he earned his bachelor of science degree. While there, he was team captain and four-year starter on the NCAA Division I Baylor Bears basketball team. He was a three-time Academic All-American.

After graduating, he played professional basketball for the Houston Rockets and for teams in Europe and Australia.

This bi-monthly program features different health care professionals presenting on relevant healthcare topics. The seminars are free and held at the Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center, 1776 Airway Avenue #A, from 10 to 11 a.m.

The Center's hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday

There is no charge for the program but seating is limited. RSVP to Debera Daugherty at 757-2778.
