The application process for the Kingman Women Making History awards is underway, with a special presentation outlining the purpose of the program set for 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Mohave County Library in Kingman, 3269 N. Burbank St.
Members of the Kingman Women Making History committee will be present to discuss the purpose of the project and ways to recognize, honor and celebrate the achievements of Kingman women. The ceremony to honor exceptional women in the Kingman area who have made sustained contributions in their special fields is set for March 3.
Applications will be accepted until Jan. 20. Nominating categories are the arts, business, education, homemaking, pioneering, professions, public service, religion and volunteerism. Application forms are available at the museum, the library, MCC, the Kingman Chamber of Commerce and online at www.kingmanwomenmakinghistory.com .
The Women Making History Committee works in conjunction with the National Women's History Month project. This year's theme is "Women Inspiring Innovation Through Imagination: Celebrating Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics."
