Kingman Letter: Country is not for sale

With regards to the opinion page on Sept. 25, I would like to congratulate the Daily Miner for printing and the artist who submitted the Obama/Romney flag presentation.

This truly shows not only how the president holds himself in such high esteem as to denigrate our country's flag, a flag that so many have fought and died for, a flag that depicts the very essence of our liberties and freedoms that our 50 (not 57) states, to this point, enjoy.

I think The Washington Examiner said it best: "Obama is a classic Chicago machine pol who thrives on rewarding himself and his friends with the spoils of public office and uses his position to punish his enemies."

Think back to his four years in office of the many things this man has done to undermine our way of life, our laws that were passed that he refuses to enforce, and to anyone with an open mind and common sense, the answer should be crystal clear as to who has our country's best interest at heart.

Mr. President, our country is not for sale at any price.

Sam Wise

During the trial of Ford Motor Company over the exploding Pinto an internal memo (described in detail in Gerry Spence’s book, “With Justice for None”) indicated that 2,100 cars would burn each year with 180 people being severely burned and an additional 180 dying from burns. So that figure became bandied about with marked regularity and the NHTSA admitted they were most likely off with the 27 death figure, but were able to go only on figures provided to them by insurance companies. The figures presented at trail were 500 people burned to death in Pinto crashes, and those figures were not disputed by Ford. .

The Ford memo also went on to demonstrate a callous disregard for their customers when it was revealed the $11 fix per vehicle would cost them $137.5 million and the costs to pay off claims resulting from the exploding Pinto would amount to $49.5 million. So they opted to kill car buyers rather than fix the problem.

To Frank Lee Speaking:

As your God and Lord Ronald Reagan would say, "There you go again," calling me a liar. I quoted the "180 deaths" from the link that I supplied in my post. If that number is wrong, that is not my doing. Call Motor Trend and call them out for lying, not me.

"180 people died as a result of that gas tank problem. Those people did not have time to exit the vehicle."

LoL. Good one. The National Highway Safety administration said 27. That is nowhere near your 180. Care to let me know where that figure came from? No link necessary, I can do my own research with just a hint.

oh no! more crony capitalism by obama. who knew? (godlike productions)

a company profiting from the so-called “obama phone” giveaway program is run by a prominent democratic donor whose wife has raised more than $1.5 million for the president since 2007.

you may remember last week, the ohio obama supporter screaming about receiving a free phone from the potus ("obama gave us a phone") on video which went viral. media outlets decided to investigate.

since '85, the fcc has operated lifeline, originally designed to provide a free landline service for low income people. the gov't subsidizes the firms providing the service, they in turn pass on the cost to you! in 2008, they included cell phones which increased gov't costs to $1.6 billion in 2011 from $722 mill in 2008. the beneficiaries rose from 7.1 million to 12.5 million, cell phones being at least half the amount.

one major provider, tracfone wireless, ceo frederick pollak has donated $156,500 to dems, $50,000 to obama. but wife abigail is an obama campaign bundler, raised more than $632,000 for the potus this time, more than $1.5 mill since 2007 and personally contributed more than $200,000 to dems since 2008.

they hosted a $40,000 a plate obama dinner in their miami home in june, another for moochelle in july, 2008, giving o $66,200 that year. pollaks white house visits - 7.

but the libs on here would rather complain about romney's perfectly legal, second taxed use of the cayman islands, reported each year on his income tax. a very small part of his entire taxes i might add.

they cannot admit the truth. green energy/obama donors, free phones/obama donors, donations/illegally from foreigners, stimulus money/went overseas.

“i guess your no voter fraud claims have been debunked enough. anything else will be like wasting time talking to a true believer in chemtrails.”

once more time - i have admitted to the fact there is voter fraud. i remain steadfast in my assertion – at the time – that, according to the state of pennsylvania there was no voter fraud, to wit “a court filing by the state of pennsylvania, ahead of a trial starting later this week contains an astounding admission: the state signed a stipulation agreement with lawyers for the plaintiffs which acknowledges there ‘have been no investigations or prosecutions of in-person voter fraud in pennsylvania and the parties do not have direct personal knowledge of any such investigations or prosecutions in other states.”

“in other words, the state knows voter fraud is a nonexistent problem, but will nonetheless defend a law that will disenfranchise a huge number of the state’s voters. of course, it’s not hard to see why the state — and particularly its republican governor — would continue to support the measure.” (source washington post).

since that stipulation was admitted to court in july we have learned that the scummy republicans have been committing voter fraud all along – thus my change in position from “there is no voter fraud” to “there is voter fraud” since the facts of the situation have changed.

“Speaking of that Volt … did they ever get the fires put out on them for good?”

So you are saying that the one Chevy volt that caught fire is still burning? Where do you get this stuff? However I would be extremely wary of a Honda right now.

“(AP) — Honda Motor Co. is recalling about 489,000 CR-V crossovers in the U.S., Europe and Africa, from the 2002 to 2006 model years because an electrical switch in the driver's side door could melt and cause a fire.”

Now that sounds really serious! Nearly half a million vehicles rolling around out there as potential fire traps? Spooky.

“NHTSA said owners should park CR-Vs from those model years outside until the recall is performed to avoid any property damage from a fire. A fire could start even when the ignition is off and the CR-V is parked.”

WOW! That really sounds serious. But by all means keep beating the drum about the one Chevy Volt that caught fire – thee weeks after an accident – while sitting a junkyard – with no one around.

To Linda Athens:

You wrote, "Not only would I never buy one [Volt], I wouldn't take one if you gave it to me. I would rather drive an old Jeep or an old Ford pickup."

Why? You think Volt is the only car that has had problems? How about the 70's Ford Pinto that exploded upon a rear-end impact? 180 people died as a result of that gas tank problem. Those people did not have time to exit the vehicle.

Here is a list os 2013 cars that already are being recalled: Dodge Durango, ChevyMalibu, Chevy Sonic, Volvo S60, XC60, S60, XC70.

Used cars from 2011 being recalled: BMW 1- Series, Volvo S80 and Xc60, Jeep Wrangler, Caadillac SRX, Toyot RAV4, Chevy Colorado, Suzuki Grand Vitara and SX$, Nisson Sentra.

As we speak, Honda has recalled the Honda CR-V's built between 2002-2006 because the drivers-side power window switch may fail, melt, and catch on fire.

So, you have singled out 1 car from an extensive list of auto recalls simply because Obama recommends it?

Check out exactly how many makes and models of cars have had major defects from electrical and engine problems that can cause fires, and faulty brakes, tires, steering, and airbags at: www.motortrends.com

Then ask yourself the real reason you hate the Volt so much. I'll guaranteed it has something to do with Obama.

No mention of who may NOT have been committing any fraud (since it didn't exist..right?).

But yet here on July 12th (almost 2 weeks earlier) you said..."Well it looks as if voter fraud exists here in Mohave County". http://kdminer.com/main.asp?Search=1&ArticleID=51567&SectionID=36&SubSectionID=843&S=1

Hmmmmm....NO...means NO doesn't it....not just none by Democrats? Because they are just so pure and perfect...right?

My reply to Chuckle has not shown up as I write this....but I believe it applies to you as well.

It seems that most of your comments are pretty right wing (as I remember) so perhaps it was confusion on my part. Maybe it was just your vehement opposition to most Left wing comments as evidenced by your reference to taking away Dem votes? Either way...just to let you know...we are in the same registration category.

So..tell me...how do you feel about Prop 121? Good or bad?

America might not be for sale, but her politicians have been for sale for a very long time! Corporate America buys them every election cycle with campaign donations, the right wing sells their souls to the billionaires the left to the special interest, unions, multitudes of smaller donations and some are bought by Corporate America as well, money was not said to be the root of all evil in bible for no reason! Anyone who believes money is not directing the two parties is a fool as well as unintelligent!

No insult was intended...I hope you took none. I believe we are more similar than different. I agree with some things from both sides, around the outside, and even way out in left field. The current (mostly) 2 party system is unworkable and needs to be changed.

The majority of the political posts here confirm that.....it's all "my way or the highway". My opinion is that both the far right and far left are so caught up in their ideology that they can't even consider any other path....not even a slight detour to look at the scenery on the other side of the trees.

“As to the fraud.... ok...you won't admit you were wrong...understood.”

I have admitted to the fact there is voter fraud – at least four times this week! What is it with you and your reading comprehension? I remain steadfast in my assertion – of the time – that, according to the State of Pennsylvania there was no voter fraud, to wit “A court filing by the state of Pennsylvania, ahead of a trial starting later this week contains an astounding admission: The state signed a stipulation agreement with lawyers for the plaintiffs which acknowledges there ‘have been no investigations or prosecutions of in-person voter fraud in Pennsylvania and the parties do not have direct personal knowledge of any such investigations or prosecutions in other states.’

And no, I do not want to see ALL registrations destroyed – just those turned in by the Republicans. Simple as that. THEY are the ones guilty of voter fraud and every registration form they turned in is suspect and should be destroyed. Too bad if they don’t have enough voters to turn the tide in favor of sleazy Willard the Money Hider. They brought it on themselves.

To be succinct – I was correct, both times.

"and may some day be charged in the World Court."

Oh Noooooossseeee! Charged by eurotrash and third world begger nations. LoL.

Be careful what you wish for. Some would argue that your affirmative action president should get the same for drone attacks in pakistan.

Heres a good one. One of the current judges on that court is from the third world toilet of Somalia. What a joke. Somalia is a permenent member of the U.N. begger nation club. But hey, the U.N. goes out of its way to make sure everyone pretends that begger nations, that will neverr be able to govern or even feed themselves are equal to real countries. LOL

And yes, the fact that the U.S. has a judge on the world court is something i find equally disgusting.

But neither of them have to worry about what a joke world court says. I am willing to bet you would be long dead of old age and mouldering in the grave before it happens although I am sure that like many leftists, you wish otherwise.

By the way, here's the real funny thing about your comment. I have always been a registered Independent. I can even show my card. So we can pretty much say that you don't know Jack**** about how i vote.

@Anson's Nephew....

The statement I quoted was in a post in this thread...apparently it has been removed. I believe it was right between aa and LA's posts on Oct 3rd. If you did not say it...my (and WA's) bad. Ask WA what happened.

As to the fraud.... ok...you won't admit you were wrong...understood.

I do apologize to some extent...looking more closely...I see that your statement was paraphrasing what was quoted from the PA case. Of course there was no source...but you could probably provide one if needed.

As to this statement..."Do you agree that ever voter registration forms all across the nation turned in by the Republicans should be destroyed... " I assume you mean "every"...so yes I partially agree. Let's destroy every registration by every voter...including you and I... and just start over. Think we can get this done by Nov? No... wait! What? Wouldn't that be disenfranchising poor, elderly , and minority voters?

I guess your version would be ok though ...right? Because it would only affect REPUBLICAN poor, elderly, and minority voters. And they are too stupid or delusional to be able to vote intelligently (read as Democrat, in your opinion) anyway.....right?

How about your other stand alone statements of no voter fraud? Do you really expect me to believe you meant "no voter fraud in PA"...or just "no voter fraud by Democrats"?

No reason to respond...I know what your answer will be...you've made that quite clear.

I'd like to tell you something...if you can listen with an open mind? Posts like yours, LGB, LA, David Gaither(?), FLS, and to a slightly lesser extent Chuckle and a few others are what drive people away from the two major political parties.

So, Obama made the big hit on osama-after inheriting the job Bush failed to do and the paid for via credit card debt for two wars?????? The thing is Obama can kick that inheritance on both accounts right back to Bill Clinton!!!!!Clinton had two ocassions to take out Osama while in office-Clinton made the conscience choice not to. On ocassion Osama was at a palace in the middle of the mid-eastern desert and Osama's demise had the potential of "possibly" taking the lives of another 200 people. Another time after that Osama was in the middle of that God forsaken desert hawk hunting with a few of the elite from a number of those mid-east countries(some mistakenly) thought to be allies of ours???and Clinton once again decided not to pull the trigger! We'd be better off today if Clinton had had the guts to do what should've been done!!!And if McCain had been elected instead of Obama our Trauma!!!!!!

“So if bush is a crimanl, than does that make Obama a criminal too? He followed Bush's Iraq plan to a tee, and even upped the funding and resources for the Afgan war.”

Uhh, no. It is interesting that you have made the quantum leap that my reference to The Criminal has something to do with the wars. Curious. I never made any such comment, but if you think that makes him a criminal then so be it. But that is not where his title came from – however, he is guilty of war crimes for approving the torturing of prisoners and may some day be charged in the World Court.

“BTW, what law did Bush break?”

Both he and the Dark Lord are the only convicted criminals to ever be appointed to the office of President and Vice President with multiple DUI convictions against both of them.

“AND BTW, if not for the Bush going to war in the first place, Bin Ladin would still be alive.”

And your proof of that is ….?
