Kingman Letter: The war on women

Thank you, President Obama, for defining the true meaning of "War on Women."

Let's send them into war. I'm of the opinion that a woman can do anything a man can do, and probably even better. But the fact remains that on average, women are not as strong, nor do they have the stamina that men have. Why any female wants to be on the front lines and experience the horrors of war is beyond me. They are just as important to the military and mission in a support role. Maybe the reasoning is just as simple as because they were not allowed to have something, that's the reason they want it.

With a stroke of the pen from our president, women can now experience killing, being killed, shrapnel in their bodies, being shot at, leeches, mosquitoes so thick you can't sleep, days without a shower, lack of sleep, watching your friends die, the list goes on and on.

Will they make good warriors? You bet they will. The ole saying, "Hell has no fury like a woman scorned," will not hold water to when our women are fighting the enemy with their thoughts on survival. Throw in a little PTSD and even PMS, I will have to admit, I would hate to face these female warriors in the jungle myself, but is this really what we as a nation want for our women? Only time will tell.

Guess I'm just old-fashioned and want what is best for the women of our country. Being on the front lines, in my opinion, is not the best option. And to the ladies, I think another saying comes into play here. Be careful what you ask for!

So you have no actual proof. Got it. LOL

@anson nephew

Sorry, I will go with my sons word on it. Small group so I can believe a handful of female service members could have gotten knocked up, and some as a way of getting out or ressigned.

And since he is a liberal, why would he make that up anyway?

Such a stickler for proof all the time AN. And only proof you decide is acceptable.

Would you please provide empirical evidence of that statement instead of an apocryphal story.

"My granddaughter is a Linquistics Specialist"

So that means s3e is at the Defense Language Institutel in Monteray CA at the Presideo. Know it well. My son went there, then on to S Korea and a facility near the border. One of his funnier stories was how they never had a female service member coworker who finished her tour. They all got pregnant, and did less work and hours 'til they were gone. Of course, leaving the guys to pick up the extra work..

LOL

Ms Athens

“No Republican man I know is trying to keep women down. What an absolutely, completely dumb remark.”

Actually your first sentence above is the absolutely, completely dumb remark.

“Obama threw this election.”

You have stated this numerous times and have been asked numerous times to provide some modicum of proof and have yet to do so.

“Left wing women have hidden ballots, changed ballots, voted repeatedly, changed rolls to favor them and more all for obama and at the risk of going to jail.”

Again no proof has ever been tendered regarding the above. However we do know that the Republicans participated in a massive attempt at voter fraud that resulted in the shutting down of registration in five states. And to date only one woman has been convicted and fined for voter fraud (by admitting to it to avoid jail time) – that would be Republican Roxanne Rubin of Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Republican men don't want women coming home in body bags like your side does.”

No, we do not and to make such a statement parrots your comment above of bing “…an absolutely, completely dumb remark.” But it does point out that “Republican men” are more than will to have our troops brought home in body bags – as long as those men are not Republicans.

I just came from looking at the links "Three Reasons" provided. Have you seen them Lori?
LOL. Physical standards for men,,,,,,,easier ones women.

I suppose we can regard your claims about the standads being the same as just the usual Lori H made up BS.

Face3 it Lori, if the standards were not lowered to appease leftists and political correctness loons, There would be a lot less women who would qualify.

You owe Three Reason a big thank you for educating you. But if i were him i would not hold my breath waiting for it.

Faqce it

You are actually right with something you said and you nailed it. You said that if some people had their way, women would not be able to vote but I would change that to "people like you should not be able to vote!"
I also would go so far as to say they should ban guns, but only from liberals as they seem to be the kooks doing all the gun related killings.
Of course the media won't tell you, but with a little research you can find out where these shooters are coming from....look it up Anson!

What better place, then in the military, to practice what we preach. Isn't their slogan "be all you can be". Reaching your full potential be it man/women, can only be accomplished by breaking down those barriers which now separate the "sexiest" in the military and if that accomplish the mission, so be it. My, man hood re-mains intact, I'm not so certain the same will be said for the future of women.

Lori:

No Republican man I know is trying to keep women down. What an absolutely, completely dumb remark.

Obama threw this election. Do you know how? Because Obama the far left liberal IS A WOMAN USER. He has convinced, especially black women, that he is Jesus Christ and King of the US all rolled into one so he uses them to the max and they lay like doormats, doing his bidding, voting twice for him as the one woman recently told Channel 11, Ohio right on TV. Left wing women have hidden ballots, changed ballots, voted repeatedly, changed rolls to favor them and more all for obama and at the risk of going to jail. Obama is a user - he uses women, then throws them under the bus. If you ever read any actual books about him, you would see this as easily as the nose on your face. Get your head out of left wing blogs that are door mats for obama and read some truth now and then.

He has used women since he was small starting with his own white grandmother. He has used Hillary, sending her out to do his bidding. In fact, one of his highest staff members quit, saying the reason was that he used women as doormats.

So let's get straight WHICH side actually does use women. It is YOUR side. Republican men don't want women coming home in body bags like your side does. It's called R E S P E C T!!

" Everything the men did, the women had to do the same"

Want to bet on that? Sure...they did have to do a certain number of pushups, or run a certain distance....but not by the same standards.

Here's a link to the Army PFT standards as of 2012. Notice how they differ between Male and Female?

Also...this is BASIC training....not AIT (or Combat Arms or whatever its called now)....things are different between the two.

I applaud your grand daughter for wanting to serve for whatever reason...but do not use her to further your own purposes.

You are speaking about things which you have no direct knowledge of.

Well, one thing I can say about you Lori is that you are consistant.....ly wrong! All you have to do is go to the links below and you will see for yourself that the standards "ARE LOWERED" for women.

http://www.apft-standards.com/

http://www.navy-prt.com/

She was put through the same rigorous physical challenges that the men were put through. The military did not make it easier for her because she's a woman.

Like I said, check the links, just because your grand daughter said it was the same doesn't make it true.

So it is not all those eeeeeeeevvvviiiiilllll GOP men wanting to chain them to their kitchen stoves as you have claimed here before after all. like you are saying, they WANT to be stay at home moms. And by "most" you mean the majority of women, right Lori?

Talk about painting yourself into a corner. LoL.

Looks like you can't keep your own vie3ws straight in your own mind.

Yeah, yeah, your family member is supergirl, equalling or outdoing all of the males at everything. Sounds like more Lori BS to me.

What part of "EXACTLY" the same training as the men didn't you understand? The bar was not lowered for the women going through boot camp. Everything the men did, the women had to do the same, and if they couldn't do it, they were "booted" out.

To Linda Athens:

My granddaughter is a Linquistics Specialist, and because of the language and sign language she is being taught, she will most likely end up in the Middle East. No, her goal was not to put men in their place. But the men sure wanted to put her in her place when she outdid some of them. My granddaughter has always prided herself by doing the very best she could do in everything.

We were all strong when we were young. Time does play havoc on our bodies, for sure. But if a YOUNG woman knows that she is strong enough and capable enough of being on the front lines and handling it as well as any man, why should she be denied that? And if the military believed a woman was not capable of being on the front line, or a possible hindrence to the men in her unit, the military should have the option of not sending her into a combat zone.

Lori:

What is the rest of the story? Where did your granddaughter end up?

When young, I was exceptionally strong for being a girl. Raised among boys, I did everything they did including hard sports, riding horses, etc which caused me to have muscles most girls did not. My brothers were amazed at my strength when we wrestled.

However, I know there was no way I could keep up with a man over the long haul.

What was your granddaughters point anyway? To somehow think she was putting men in their places, showing them up or proving she was another Ziva David?

"And that they are capable, intelligent beings who can decide for themselves what their lot in life should be."

And in every job like police, firefighter, and yes, the military, if the physical standards were not changed to make it easier for them, the majority of women would not qualify for the job.
Real easy to say "look how good we are" when the bar has been lowered for you.

To Amaryllis Smith:

You're absolutely right! God did not intend for women to be subservient to men. MEN decided the woman's role in life all by themselves. And the Republicans are still trying to keep women under their control. But it isn't going to work. And, as long as they keep trying to do so, they will keep losing elections.

To Linda Athens:

Just because YOU don't think a woman can do everything a man can do is so wrong. As I mentioned in another post, my granddaughter aced everything required of her in boot camp, She was trained to fight the same way every man was trained to fight. To believe that women would endanger men's lives because they are on the front lines is rubbish and your own failure to believe in a woman's strength and stamina. Maybe YOU could not withstand the rigors of war, but your opinion doesn't set the standards for all women. If you feel that YOU would be incapable of marching through muck, facing enemy fire, that is YOUR shortcoming. Not every woman lacks a belief in themselves and their ability to do what needs to be done in a war, just as every man does..

I beg to differ with you- My niece was married to a Commander of a Navy ship stationed out of Guam-There was a HUGE SEX scandal-this was mid 2000s-One of the females ended up commiting suicide after being relieved off ship and my niece's husband lost his commission and ultimately lost all benefits-I feel that was just as he didn't seem to have very strong command of his ship! In your day women were respected and treated with such. Can't blame all men today as females have become (some) more vulgar than their counter parts!

“I don't want my Grand Daughters end up being subjected to being drafted…”

And where have you seen any such proposal? Since the military is all volunteer – as the loons keep telling us – why even mention the draft?

“Just because a woman can fly a darn helicopter does that mean she should??”

If she so wishes, why not? If she’s qualified and wants to fly a chipper why deny her?

“… leave my Grand Daughters out of your darn war on women!!”

Actually the War on Women is being waged by the Republicans who want to directly effect your grand-daughters access to medications and personal health care decisions. THAT is where the War on Women exists.

When my Granddaughter went through boot camp, she was required to carry the same weight on her back as the men. She was requred to march the same distance as men. She was required to shoot her weapon as well (or better) as any man. She was put through the same rigorous physical challenges that the men were put through. The military did not make it easier for her because she's a woman. And, because she did better than some men, she received a lot of flack from her male counterparts. Men really do hate to be outdone by a woman.

My Granddaughter struggled to gain weight so that she could meet the minimum 125 lb weight requirement in order to enlist. But even at 125 lbs, she was able to do and carry everything the men, who weighed much more than her, were required to do and carry. If serving her country in any capacity is something she felt compelled to do, why would anyone try to prevent her from doing so? It is being really chauvanistic to believe that women are not capable of being as tough and beneficial on the front lines of a battle as any man, seeing as they had the same exact training that the men had.

If women, even women with children, wish to serve their country and make sure it is a safe haven for their children to grow up in, why should they be condemned? They are sacrificing everything. And children being raised by grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. while parents are off protecting our nation, are still being cared for by people who love them. Granted, most women prefer to be stay-at-home moms, but when their country needs them, many women will answer that call. They don't deserve any criticism.

It is a BIG job raising a child-it takes nurturing, structure, discipline, love and consistency. It is the parents responsibility to provide those! It is not the aunts, uncles, cousins or Grandparents place! Many women(actually young girls) go into the military to have help to pay for college, have an adventure or whatever. And YES, in the early 70s stupid women were burning their bras for equality!
I have always been glad not to have been born a man!!!!!!!!!! God didn't/doesn't expect women to be subservient to men. He expected them to Love, Honor, Respect One Another and to be Helpers To One Another. His word was, is, and always will be!

God did not intend females to do the same as men!! I don't want my Grand Daughters end up being subjected to being drafted just because some other female pushed her way into a Man's position!!
I also feel when a woman has a child-that is Her first responsibility in life. I saw the couple who returned from Afganistan at the time and the grandparents had been caring for the their children-That Is Wrong No Matter How You Put It!!
Just because a woman can fly a darn helicopter does that mean she should?? Give the men back their jobs and leave my Grand Daughters out of your darn war on women!!
